I knew Stevie from childhood. I practically lived at the Armadillo World Headquarters in ATX. My mom was his personal cab driver whenever he was in Austin and he would stay at our apartment sometimes. Mom adored him and so did I. He used to take me out for Root Beer Floats at Sandy's Ice Cream and we would watch Woody Woodpecker cartoons on the tv. He loved when I would do the laugh along with him. I'll never forget how blown away he was by how fast I read and that I was reading adult books at 5 years old. He always told me, "never let anyone tell you that you aren't smart, cuz you're the smartest kid ever." From him that meant the world to me cuz when he played the guitar, he was the best ever.
I tell you all this because seeing your reaction to his music reminded me of him and it shows that Stevie will never die as long as new people keep discovering his music.
Thank you for the reaction, I'd love to see you react to his ACL performances someday.

He died 2 weeks after I saw him perform 6 inches from me. I had waited 6 years. I will never get over it. Only two artists' music has made me cry. SRV and Pink Floyd. We have a statue of him here for a reason.

Dude stood five feet five inches tall and was a GIANT

The world lost an important person when it lost this guy.

SRV's tribute to Hendrix, Voodoo Child live at the Austin City limits is one of the most insane exhibitions of showmanship of all time and one of the greatest covers of all time.

His guitar is now owned by his brother Jimmie. It's kept in a Texas bank vault but is sometimes loaned out to Guitar Center in Austin TX. For display.

Rest in Paradise SRV!!!!! You are loved and missed!!!!

+1 on Little Wing.  Tightrope, Little Sister, Crossfire and If The House is a Rockin, Dont Bother Knockin!

My Favorite Guitarist !! 🤘 R.I.P Stevie Ray 🙏 Still listening 🎶

Montreux is in Switzerland, and is home to a prestigious Jazz Festival , which often features artists from other genres, such as Blues 😇

There is a video out there of Stevie Ray Vaughan playing with (Canadian legend) Jeff Healey you should watch. You will be gob-smacked.

As phenomenal as he was throughout his career, and as hard as it may be to believe, once he became sober his playing went to an entirely different level. And then he was gone...

He doesn't just know how to play. He KNOWS. Lots can play, only a handful "know", and SRV is at the front of that line.

His first album came out in '83 and I went to see him at a small club outside Orlando. This song was getting air time on the radio but I had no idea I was about to see a guitar GOD! When he started playing Hendrix covers my brain melted. I believe David Bowie saw this performance and recruited him to play on his Let's Dance album.

I know this may sound silly and it may not be true, but how I feel about that guitar is that when you see it you’re seeing Stevie Ray that Guitar was a part of him,  that was one of his most favorite guitars to play and when you saw that guitar, you’ll see Stevie Ray. RIP my friend you are very well missed 😢.

He leaves me speechless too. 😊

Makes me PROUD to be American! 😎🎸

Check out "Look at Little Sister" if you want to see how REALLY good he is.  He breaks a guitar string and switches guitars while playing and doesn't miss a note!

Hey Fellas Happy 4th, SRV is a great drop for today. Pride and Joy is one of my favorites. Gone way to soon.

One of my favorite SRV tunes!! RIP Stevie
