Between 1918 and 1919, New Orleans was in a frenzied panic about a roaming serial killer, so much so, that the killer was able to scare the entire city into playing jazz music one night. Everyone was on edge about another axeman attack, and no one knew who would be targeted next
However, there is strong evidence to suggest that the attacks were not random, but rather, very deliberate, since they targeted Italian American grocers almost exclusively, which were often used by New York and New Orlean Mafia's as fronts for racketeering and extortion
In this video, we start from before the "canonical" axeman attacks, and show proof that the man always suspected by many to be one of the "axe men", Joseph Monfre (AKA Frank Doc Mumphrey) May very well have been one of the people responsible.
For some reason (I probably forgot) I did not mention in the video that the fact nothing was stolen from the victims, is yet another strong indication that the attacks were committed by Mafia Enforcers, as taking the money or valuables from the dead victims was often seen as "despreate", and there aim was to maintain their reputation
