Seeing Tim cry made me tear up. The perfect person to have at this type of moment

Ovi had the entire world watching an islanders game

I was in DC for 893/894. What an atmosphere that was!

As a diehard caps fan seeing this ALMOST is up there with us winning the cup. Ovi deserves it. I hope he comes back for 1 more year. LETS GO CAPS!

My dad and I saw a caps game in person for the first time together and saw him tie the record and cried together again when he broke it ❤ its a truly spectacular moment and its hard to describe in words

Lifelong caps fan; means a lot yall included Joe B’s call. He and Laughlin are true icons

I was at that game, it was unreal, congrats ovi

OVI IS THE GREATEST GOAL SCORER AND HE IS SO PHYSICAL!!!

I've been a hockey fan for what feels like forever—long before Ovi even entered the NHL. I've watched more games than I could ever count, but what Ovi accomplished is hands-down the most unreal feat in the sport. He's like the Doom Guy of hockey—relentless, unstoppable. He made every critic eat their words and brought them to their knees. He didn’t just prove them wrong—he obliterated them.

Bro, when you started crying, I started crying too. Three years ago, I thought Ovechkin would never break this record. Hello from Russia

"What am I gonna do? not cheer?" lmfao

As an Ovi fan this hits on so many levels.

Road to 1017, Ovi needs 43 goals to pass Gretzky's all time goals of 1016 (regular season and playoffs) congrats to Ovi for breaking the most all time regular season goals

i was in section 316 me and my dad were crying so hard lmao and im editing my video on this rn!!!

I remember back in ‘94 when Gretzky broke Gordie Howe’s 801 goals record. I was 9yo, watching on TV. Back then, we didn’t have YouTube and we didn’t have Digital Cable/Satellite TV with hundreds of channels, including an NHL Season Pack that allows a hockey fan to watch every single NHL game that’s happening throughout the league. Nope, back then, you could only watch the game of your home team, which for me, was the Los Angeles Kings. So, while I hadn’t gone to the Great Western Forum to watch the game live, I was able to watch it on TV, living in Southern California.

Fast forward 31 years, and now I am 40 years old, and I get to get to live vicariously through YouTubers like you, to be able to watch my favorite player beat the Great One’s All-Time Career Regular Season Goals Record is truly an incredible experience.

I also want to say, that if you’re the type of person who has been extremely salty in the comments, talking shit about Ovi and him beating the record, then you are not a real ice hockey fan, because real fans and lovers, in my opinion, of the greatest sport, are truly ecstatic that OVI broke this record. A record that absolutely NO ONE believed would ever be broken. So it doesn’t matter whether you’re a stan of Ovi and/or the Caps, ALL true hockey lovers are happy that such a historical moment occurred in our lifetime.

Incredible genuine reaction from a true hockey fan

The fact that the stopped the game then and there is absolutely wild to me and huge props for the islanders for actually doing that… we’ll never see anything like that ever again.

Only guy who is on this channel that actually gets sports. Hockey the GOAT sport

Im not even mad he scored on us, just happy to see a new record.

Everytime I rewatch this goal I get tears in my eyes. It’s just so intense I can not believe this happened. Also I get see how much gratitude you feel to be able to see this moment and live the life you live. That was awesome to see
