Can You Beat (100%) PRO SKATER 1 With Minimum Stats?

The Backlogs

As someone who's never been good at riding a skateboard, I never got around to playing the Pro Skater series. But after playing Pro Skater 3 with Dan and Colin during a guy's night, I officially have the itch.

But what if my real life skateboarding skills translated into the game itself?
Can you beat (100%) Pro Skater 1 with minimum stats?

A big thanks to Dan for editing this video for me 💛
My man saved me a lot of time which gave me some free time to work on an upcoming video that I know all of you are very excited about.
So look forward to that.

Proceeds to play the game how you're supposed to.

The "idk why they did that, turn that off" got me.

If someone has the ability to mod in the Elite Knight Armor into Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 as a skin, I will literally pay you for your efforts.
Email is in the description if you've got it :_LemonHeart:

Honestly love the meta narrative of this super normal guy just deciding to try this 'skateboarding' thing but somehow placing second among pro skateboarders

One tip:
Yes, you're getting a large multiplier by mashing. But because you're not holding any tricks, the amount you're multiplying it with is f*ck-all.
Start your combo with a high-value trick (e.g. a lip-trick held for a few seconds or a 900) and revert from that into your manual, then pump up your multiplier. Add a special grind trick that you hold for a few seconds, then work on the multiplier again. Some tricks can add 9000+ points to your pre-multiplied point score in under a second if they're held.

Now, do I tell Lemon that his “cheesing” is just playing the game as intended, or let him hold onto that one?

Lemon just can't escape grinding XD

Aaah the nostalgia! Although not even so much because of the gameplay, but the music! The Tony Hawk pro skater games pretty much got me to start playing guitar back in highschool. Heck it pretty much got me into music in general. Veered away from punk and nu-metal rather quickly after that and into prog metal, but you gotta start somewhere.

24:00 I remember when I started to see the lines that (i think) the devs had in mind. The levels started to make sense and you could chain the objectives together really smoothly. That 'game sense' transfers between the THPS games amazingly

2nd comment fully dedicated to Dan. Dan, it was really fascinating hearing you talk about the variation of the ports and the history of the game. I hope Lemon didn't break down your door again for you to do this video. And I always appreciate you three hanging out together and showing us a sneak peek into your friendship.:_LemonHeart:

Dan with over 500,000 points while Lemon only had 30,000, that is like the ultimate underdog story.

Lemon learning the wall kick + kickflip + grind infinite combo brought back memories. From childhood and college

No GameCube startup?! Never thought I'd get blue balled by nostalgia.

As a little tip from someone who spent WAY too much time on this series as a child.
Up, up, jump, from either flatland or a ramp - does a trick called a Boneless, which gives you extra height. There's the No Comply too but that doesn't get as much height.
The same button combo can be used during a wallride to do a Wallie plant and jump a bit higher
When grinding a rail (or in a manual), you can tap different combinations of the buttons for grinds, flip tricks + grabs to change your grind without having to jump to reset, very useful for building score multipliers. Get Special, start with a Special grind (or Manual) and hold it for a few seconds, then quickly spam trick buttons to build the multiplier.

*typed this out halfway though the video, literally two minutes later you discover all of this :P*
