In this Field Strip video, I demonstrate how to properly disassemble and reassemble the Winchester Model 37A, a classic single-shot 20-gauge shotgun. Although it closely resembles the earlier Winchester Model 37, the 37A features several design changes and should not be confused with its predecessor. Despite its simple design, there are a few details worth knowing before taking one apart for routine maintenance.

In addition to the complete field strip, I also replace the factory plastic forend spacer, a part that is commonly found cracked or broken on these shotguns, with a modern aluminum replacement. This upgrade restores the shotgun's functionality while providing a much more durable long-term solution.

This video demonstrates the way I disassemble and reassemble this firearm for routine maintenance and cleaning. Your method may vary
