25 years ago I was an addict living on Dixon road near the Imperial Hotel. There was a murder on my doorstep and a human head found in a bin around the corner. The loneliness and poverty drove me to crime and I ended up in prison. I got my act together with the help of the Drug treatment people which definitely saved my life. I have now lived a relatively normal life for 20 years, but I will never forget those desperate times.
I live around there. I can walk around there at any time. No hassle. However I'm not a crackhead and I don't hang around dealers. So they don't have any issue with me. The problem is there are so many drug abusers here, but it's their own circles they mess with. Not the regular people.
The difference between Claremont and gynn square is people that rent properties and people that own properties and with that comes the level of effort to look after the property and the area from the residents
Blackpool has been hit with 3 major crises. Cheap flights to Spain, the demise of the Cotton Towns where thousands of visitors came from and empty boarding houses turned into multi occupancy flats for a transient population on benefits. Add council, education and police cuts to the mix and this is what you get. Social breakdown.
I stayed in 86 Claremont court. 19 years ago and it was nothing like it is now. Breaks your heart. I used to finish in the bar. Walk home from talbot road to Claremont court at 4am, each night, get the dog and take it a walk before bed. Nothing to fear. Now look at it.
This reform guy is an absolute muppet! Loves REPEATING HIMSELF and k ows Jack about addiction ffs!! Its not the place its the dynamics of the people!! Dredge of society. ..running from their past
Why people insist on blaming everything but peoples attitudes for violence, crime and deprivation. The thicker people get, the worse it will become. People's attitudes make a place.
Like the guy says it's all neglect same as every community in britain neglect by councils and government doing nothing but taking money out to benefit the rich while using areas as dumping grounds.
I'm sick to the back teeth of certain YouTubers local and out of town ones bringing Blackpool down and always showing the negativity in Blackpool we have another meeting with the council and police on Wednesday to get 75% of YouTubers banned maybe they should get themselves a real job.
