I graduated HS in 83. RIP to those who passed. Some I remember growing up.

I was a Junior in HS in FALL '83 and I remember Karen Carpenter the most from that year, still. She lived in Downey, Ca. and I lived in Norwalk, Ca. which is the city to the East of Downey.
We listened to The Carpenters records in the '70s growing up there. Tragic loss, she had a talent and a voice like no other. RIP Karen and all that we lost in 1983.
I do have to mention director George Cukor because I am a huge Marilyn Monroe fan and he directed the last movie she ever starred in, but died after being let go by FOX
during production of "Something's Got to Give" (1962). Please watch "The Final Days" on that whole ordeal and George is in on a lot of it.  RIP George Cukor and Marilyn.

Tennessee Williams was a genius. „A Streetcar named desire” was the first and only play that made me sob uncontrollably. If I were a theatre actress and had just one chance to choose a character to play it would undoubtedly be Blanche..

I remember Jessica Savitch  she reported the news like she was actually talking to you personally.I was in high school and did a report on her life.Because women were still discriminated against in the media.I was so heartbroken when she passed .I actually went into a depression stage for a month .

It’s creepy that these people were dying in and I was just 10 years old you think about everything they missed in the last 43 years

Raymond Massey was the Publisher in James Cagney's "Come Fill the Cup (1951)," which I saw working in Treatment (1986); It was the "Alcoholic" movie we were required to show our residents; I knew Massey's face but had difficulty remembering his name

Suicides, overdoses, murder... tragic year beyond the passings.

I like watching these older ones like this one I was only 10 years old for so most of the people don’t look familiar. It’s crazy to think about how long ago they passed away.

R.I.P. Denny Wilson

RIP Carolyn Jones

Damn, a lot of self-inflicted gunshot deaths this year.

I was born in February 1983

What about pre-code actress Alice White?

I remember that Korean airliner being shot down. Hundreds of miles off it's intended path, not responding to repeated calls & warnings. How co-incidental it just happened to be conveniently "lost" over restricted Soviet airspace.
Planes don't "accidentally" fly hundreds of miles off-route nor does air traffic control not notice. The West was spying, using unsuspecting passengers as human shields.
"The Russians aren't talking"? Yes they were. They were saying exactly that. And that's why that story went away quickly and quietly with this lie stuck in our heads.
These things simply don't happen accidentally in contested military airspace.

His wrestling bame was what ?!

7:54 I never even heard of AIDS in 1983. Were these two individuals added in 2.0? Rock Hudson was the first that I knew of.

Rlp

I thought Eubie Blake was 100.

1:50 "causes" is misspelled

That is not the cause of death of Tennessee Williams. He choked on a eye drop lid. Also Herge died from cancer.
