Most of the Royals are like this, they are human beings and like to speak to people.

Us Brits don't have an uncontrollable urge to assassinate anyone famous when we meet them.
This must seem strange.

The saying is a cat can look at a Queen. Royalty are treated with respect but not that you are servile. Big difference

About 20 year ago, I think 2008, I met the Queen on this very path. Exact same situation, couple of Range Rovers drove past, about 5 minutes later the Queen came walking towards us. She was walking alone, however I was aware of two people about 100 meters away who also stopped walking and stood with their eyes on us the entire time. Pretty sure I would have been on the ground within a second if trying anything, royals are never fully alone.

Balmoral is the kings summer home in Scotland so technically they are guests on his land and he loves Balmoral for the quiet nature walks.

Being the king is not like being a President. He does not consider himself above us. He considers himself our servant and we do not consider him some distant figure. He is one of us. He's like a favourite uncle just as his mother was

They are cycling on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland, it is one of the Monarch's residences.
If you called him Charlie boy to his face he'd probably find it funny 😂

A bothy is kinda like a very basic hiker's cabin. Free for anyone to use when out and about. They're usually just left unlocked and work on a trust system of leave it how you would like to find it.

No one can touch the King unless he specifically initiates it

They would love to shake his hand but you’re not allowed to touch the King unless he initiated it.

Of course it's the King. They are on his estate. In the UK we are not insanely paranoid, aggressive, heavily armed morons so we are allowed to freely roam. When his mum was still alive she and a security guard met some American tourists in the same area. They asked her if she had ever met the Queen and she laughed and said no, but her companion had, and walked off.

We dont touch the King or Queen. They have to be careful not to get sick or catch colds and flus. Its also a courtesy thing. He is supposed to invite/ initiate contacts.

It's not security, it's protocol. Everyone knows you don't extend your hand unless the king does so first. The same goes for any member of the royal family.

Look at your face it’s King Charles yes 😂😂😂

Years ago, when he was still a prince, he wrote a children's book called The Old Man of Lochnagar. Which they mentioned at the start of the video.

I bumped into the Norwegian King like 10 years ago when hiking. He is a lovely guy and very likeable as his Father.

My dad has always called him Charlie. Kind of, from his prince days.

Royal etiquette requires that no-one touches the King. Most Brits are aware of this, which is why none of them tried to shake his hand. Talking with the King is fine.

Wait for him to extend a hand first... Don't impose or expect...

He wasnt out alone, as you saw, security was following
