This a two-way street issue. Both clients and Customers (consumers) have gotten comfortable and spoiled. Instead of a respectful and mutual exchange, we now see both sides trying to prove why they're right.
22:44 tipping culture so out of touch they expect you to tip a person that SETS THEIR OWN PRICES. Why do you need a tip on top of a price that you set for your work? A minimum wage worker that had no say in what they get paid NEEDS to rely on their tips to survive, you just want more than you already asked for.
I feel like a lot of people think being non-confrontational equals being polite or nice, when the real nice thing to do would be to respectfully communicate a need to tweak something and give your hairstylist the chance to actually work with you and fix it versus spitting on their name after not communicating with them.
I feel the girl that says bring back old school clients because I'm a millennial that's an "old school client" lol. I just want to come in, get my same style and pay you for your services (pay in cash when I can). If I like your services, we're setting a schedule so I can come in at a designated time and day every few weeks to keep down confusion. If I'm late, I give my ETA. And I find a stylist that I can afford with quality service after research. Respect from both parties can go a long way. Been like that since high school when I was getting roller wraps.
Stop using AI or cartoon/anime pics to show your stylist! Use real photos and use some sense. Does this style match your hair type? Are you willing to style it to replicate the look? Yes, there are crap stylists out there, but you need to speak up. I see on Reddit all the time that a person paid, tipped, but hated the cut, and then wants a refund once they got home.
Whenever I've spoken up, they try and make you feel stupid for requesting things you requested IN THE BEGINNING. The stylist forget and get lazy. The lady who talked about it first was blaming the client as if customer service didn't include talking to the client about the process.
A lot of people lack basic empathy and consideration for other people’s time space and money. The increase in entitlement and main character syndrome is a disease
First girl I would’ve just told the person the address, which would’ve been faster than “check your email because it’s in there along with instructions on how to get to me.”
Also if you set your own prices, which most stylists do, I’m not gonna leave a tip unless it is above exceptional service. You set your prices, if you want more money then set a higher price. I’m not tipping 25%+, the expected amount from stylists, for less than subpar service.
oh no people abuse the hell out of chargebacks. My employer makes custom items for clients--one of a kind, can't be resold. They'll get it, be happy with it, go home and chargeback! Then you have to get together a mini-court case to prove to the creditor you did provide what you charged for. They're thieves that are too cowardly to do the stealing in your face.
See i paied a hairstylist $30 for an appointment i missed so I can't understand how people can feel ok not wanting to pay for a service they actually received 😭
Omg the girl cutting in on the stylist nonstop, completely putting words in her mouth and making snarky facial expressions is INFURIATING. All the stylist was saying is "people need to have realistic expectations. Our goal is to make you happy, and confident, but we can't change your hair type or give you thickness you don't have, etc." and she's absolutely right!! She never mentioned tips or forcing people to be happy, just that alot of people come in with completely unrealistic expectations and then blame the stylists for not having magical abilities 🤦🙄 idk why she's so angry over the truth. Those kinds of people are ridiculous, especially her "explanation" or argument at the end, sounds like projection. The girl never said there was a PROBLEM with her clients, she never said 90% of what she was accused of
I live in a beauty desert. I would jump through hoops to have a decent black hairstylist within 8 hours of my home. If you have one down the street, why are they waiting half an hour with no communication??? Makes zero sense.
My Sister occasionally braids her own hair. She has mad respect for good braiders. It takes her two days because her arms feel like they’re going to fall off. And these women are on their feet for a crazy amount of time. This kind of thing is why they tend to double book.
