We are going to be sailing in a couple of weeks, and have never been on Holland before. I'm excited that they do room service all the time and chocolates on the pillow!!! Back to the good old days... :)

Sailed on the Eurodam within the last couple of weeks, and the casino was packed. Just about every table was open.

Very helpful! Love the tips!
I look forward to tasting the Cookies when I go on HAL next summer 2026

usually lunch in MDR is only on Sea Days = been also hearing on FB groups that the Elemis Brand is no longer but others reporting it is still there so I don't know maybe transitioning to new product

Took my first HAL cruise last year on Koningsdam, loved it. I think they serve lunch in the main dining room only on sea days. I upgraded to Club Orange and really enjoyed the private dining room, but I'd eat in the MDR occasionally for variety 🙂. Thanks for the tip on the cookies...I somehow missed them. But will look for them on Zuiderdam next month!

Does HA have free pizza, and snacks

I love how on HA, I can prepay the crew appreciation fee upfront, so I don’t have to worry. We travel almost exclusively Holland and love it

Have sailed on Holland America. Took the Veendam to Bermuda. Room service on HAL is good. Liked playing in the casino. The one thing I didn't like was when we were on the Veendam they took out the craps table. Don't drink a lot. Maybe two glasses of wine and with a meal. Never take a hair dryer with me. They have them on the ship. We ate at the buffett most times. Sometimes at Canaletto's and of course at the Pinnacle Grill. HAL serves you at the buffett. Even before the pandemic. Don't like a lot of the newer shows. HAL does make good cookies. I often brought many back to the stateroom.

we are building loyalty exclusively with HAL and it’s beginning to pay off by way of free cruises and perks. The line is perfect for us, not too noisy but not dead at night, usually pretty full but not overwhelming, beautiful staterooms, decent food across the ship, awesome itineraries. We are pretty happy with the casinos…they’re small, but i’m happy with that. Right now i’m not sure there is any other line I would want to sail with. we are about to go on our 8th cruise with them and we have really enjoyed all of them so much. Thanks Sharon!

I do the same thing with the cookies. We also learned to help seasickness eat a green apple. Ilthe chocolate on your pillow does not happen every night. The last 2 recent sails chocolate was given on the formal and orange night only 2 times.

I notice on my last HAL cruise, in the bill there's a space for room service charges.. So I think it's coming..

HAL is a luxury cruise line. Folks who are smart with their money don't gamble.

Great review on the Volendam. Just a comment regarding the buffet. Ask for smaller portions when they are serving you. I found they gave me way too much food. 😊

We are booked on the Noordam in June to Alaska. The way the casino has been described it seems to be open to the music venues. Does this make the music venues smokey? I always hate having to walk through a casino on any ship because of the smoke. Does anyone know about this?
