The interceptor is everyone's favourite because most folk in the UK can afford it! This is like comparing apples and avocados!

Mi corazon esta con triumph, mi bolsillo con royal enfield

I had tons of hope to buy an interceptor until test rode one and immediately after my whole perception has changed and was like... No way! From quality of parts/materials to fit and finish to design of every part was underwhelming! Then with a heavy heart for extra cost test rode T100 and immediately was like... Yes please! Take my money! Everything was as it should be or better from quality, performance, design & etc

The Triumph is lovely but i reckon the Enfield enticed more people back onto two wheels.
Inexpensive new price on the Enfield means bikes only a couple of years old and with negligible miles for really sensible prices.
That's a big draw no matter what else is available on the second hand market.

11:56 i never took mine back to Triumph dealer - once was enough - didn’t care about me,  charged me a lot and let me ride home before telling me (a week later by email!) that my breaks were down to minus 15% AND THEN i got the pads double checked by non-triumph and (as i thought) the pads have thousands of miles left on them.  they also told me on the phone when i made the appointment that i couldn’t test ride a bike while i was there or as they put it  ‘we don’t let people just go out on jollies’. i was very embarrassed. i have a 2 year old Bobber am a 50 year old man taking it  to Triumph for service. i AM YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE! treated like an inconvenience. no one was around. didn’t try to talk to me about bikes in the shop i was looking at.  didn’t point out the sale they were having on clothes.  didn’t call me when bike was completed.  so i won’t be buying a bike from them either.

Nice common man’s comparison. I’m old enough to to remember Bike magazine doing a similar comparison between the real Bonneville and the Yamaha XS650, back in the day. Lol

This Bonneville got 54bhp 64 is new model 2021 I have same Bonneville t100 same colour 2017 and happy so far Great video

As for which bike is ... better looking .... it's the eye of the beholder.... I've have .. 650 Triumph,  650 BSA, Xs650's (3)  and even the fabled Triton (750)..parked in my garage... all classic lines.  Handsome machines .... I bought a 2020 Interceptor.... for what it wasn't, not so much for what it is.   The value was a major factor .... it's a great " 650 " machine .... many manufactures built a 650 for the pass 80 years.... RE got it right.  The $$$$'s I saved will fund my summer fun.. for years.  😎

Great video. I managed to snag a 2018 t100 a couple of years ago after getting my license, but I always hankered for a Royal Enfield

Most technical stats were wrong🤦🏻‍♂️ and i still I love it😂
47.8hp,52nm, 205kg wet🤭
Also, new interceptor 650 can be had with alloy wheels, adjustable levers, led front light and blacked out engine and pipes.

RE is so cheap and easy to customize, and way cheaper to buy, cheaper cost of maintenance (but more often), his line is so pure, power at low rev, buttery clutch  ...great video

What a great video - lovely. Two blokes talking bikes, have empathy for each other’s perspective and can see the beauty in each bike. Fabulous - you’ve gained a subscriber - and yes I’ve owned a T100 for over 20 years now so I may be a little biased.

Both great bikes.  8 year old bonnie compares favourably to a fairly new Interceptor so they are probably the same money.  Bonnie is the standard of which all retros are measured. The T120 variant nails it.

Actually a very useful comparison. Thanks.

Interesting comparison indeed I have the Interceptor and have always wondered the difference thanks

Ridden both but in my opinion the Triumph rides far nicer , feels to have lots of torque were you need it and handles nice but then it costs lot more . The Enfield is good bike though and if your looking for best value bike then its the Enfield and its more authentic being air cooled . Triumph really upped their game with the water cooled twins as the older air cooled 790/865 weren't the best handling and felt bit breathless power wise

Clunky gear change on the Interceptor? That does surprise me ! I've ridden a dozen different ones and they've all been buttery smooth .....including my own !

would have liked for the guys to talk about long-distance riding.  good  and thoughtful comparison overall. Nice job.

The Interceptor's chain being on the left side gives it greater access for cleaning and measuring tension than the Triumph's

This summer I bought my first big bike. Was thinking between T100, RE Interceptor 650, Kawa W800, or Moto Guzzi V7. Comparing just RE 650 with T100, even though Interceptor is more than 10kg lighter, if felt much more heavy when I sat on one. It's probably because of the ground clearance being higher on the Interceptor by over an inch. It makes the bike feel top heavy. That plus 2 inches shorter wheelbase, makes the bike look like a scrambler to me. Bonneville silhouette looks much more classy and pretty to me. Also, T100's engine is a peach, the RE doesn't even come close. 80Nm at 3250rpm, compared to Interceptor 52Nm or so, and at higher revs. It also consumes less fuel, which is just ridiculous, since it's 900cc against 650cc... Plus the fit and finish on the Bonneville. The clocks, the headlight, even the fuel cap, and it all scream quality. So I went for the used T100 instead of the new Interceptor. No regrets so far. And that engine sound is just amazing, even with the stock exhaust.
