You we're my principal at school from 1991 till 1993. In 1992 I decided I didn't want to do maths and science in 5th form and you called my parents in to your office and we negotiated a program and I got my way. Then in 1993 I was suspended from school for smoking marijuana and as disappointed as my father was with me he felt a great honour to meet you again and shake the Auckland Rugby coaches hand and remarked to me that you should be the All Black coach. I will never forget the assembly at school on the Monday when Auckland lost the shield to Waikato. At the end of 1993 I left school aged 15. I saw you in the main street of Henderson in 1997 and you recognised me, greeted me and wished me well for the future. What an amazing man you became and I want to say I truly think you are a great New Zealander and it was an honour to have seen you up close as a man in my life.
