The Olympus Pen E-P1 announced on 16 June 2009 is Olympus Corporation's first camera that adheres to the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system design standard. It retailed for $899 at the time ($1200 adjusted for inflation), I bought it for $50 on eBay (got very lucky).

Very nice video. I bought a Nos E-P1 in 2022, combined with the 7Artisan 18/6,3 it makes my daily street combo. Love it. Regards

New subscriber here! I'm using an EPL1 and it's an amazing little everyday camera. The colours in the jpeg and raw, even the noise in high ISO it's beautiful. I'm using that camera a lot for artistic work (not for working on a event) and one amazing thing it's the 3 axis stabilizer in 2010... I can't believe that, I'm using all kind of lenses in a extremely cheap mirrorless. Great work! Saludos desde Argentina

Very nice review. 5 or 6 years ago, I found an EPL1 at a pawn shop for around 25 bucks. Came with a battery and lens. I could not pass it up and it works perfectly.

Cheapest I can find I’d close to $500. No idea where you get those prices

Coming 2 years later now the Pen ep1 is 150€ for the cheapest
Found a 17mm f1.8 on a market in Bangkok for 140€
Add a flash for 20€
It’s still a good price, this camera is so fun and easy to use

EP-1 no doubt a desirable OB jay. The question is has it aged well? IBIS failure is common, all 3 of my Olympus Pen M4/3 have it. Repair is possible, apparently, but only the technically adept should attempt it. Not that IBIS failure is a death sentence. Good quality images are still possible without IBIS. My E-P1 is scrambled electronically so IBIS is irrelevant. It left a good looking body. Now either thru patience or serendipity. l have picked up a later E-P3 sans functioning IBIS with minimal shutter actuations at a most affordable price. Good luck!

Hi bro, can you help me how to set up the MF lens on the Olympus EP-1. I ordered the 7Artisan 25mm f1.8 lens.
Very interesting video, thank you.

That was my first micro four thirds camera. I purchased it to use as a light alternative to my Nikon D700 and pro lenses. Eventually I gifted it to my daughter and purchased an OMD EM5. I missed the EP1 so much I purchased an EP2 and an EP3 (which I also gifted). I eventually purchased another EP1 that now supplements my OM System OM1 MKii. It’s the camera I carry around for those just in case moments or when I need to travel super light.
