Can’t believe for over 20years I wholeheartedly thought Madeline took place in an orphanage.

i also need people to know that each of the little "fashion-doll" style madeline dolls had an appendectomy scar (i made sure to check all of them as a kid because i was concerned with accuracy). the dollhouse was pretty big - most dollhouses are but sometimes that is lost in images. the furniture was actually wooden and the backgrounds were very nice and its my favorite dollhouse ive ever had

i whould like to point out that they got yelled at for having a dog and then turned around and got a horse

“She’s Bald! She’s bald and she’s torturing people who have hair”.

Love the Totally Spies reference

As a Spaniard, I ADORED Madeline and when they introducted Pepito I kept yelling at the books that if they wanted a Spanish child to play with the girls they should have taken me XD

The school may be no place for a horse but him sleeping with a pillow and blanket is very cute

Little concerned that all of pepito’s actions in his first book are classic signs of a pre-serial-killer.

madeline lost in paris TRAUMATIZED me as a kid omg. my grandma had (and i think still has) a bunch of madeline movies/episodes on VHS for the grandkids for that one was i believe the only one not from one of the older series. i remember being so confused as to why she was an orphan, and then being absolutely terrified of the kidnapping and hair shaving etc. i was a very sensitive child lol, scared by much lesser things, so this movie really stands out as a horrifying watch experience for little me 😭 sidenote: i need to get my hands on all those old madeline VHS tapes assuming they’re still at her house!!!

Although I understood it was a boarding school I did have the misconception that the teacher was a nun.

imagine being one of the other eleven girls in the boarding school omg i would get so sick of her antics😭😭

Okay… Madeline doesn’t live in an orphanage… okay, I actually kinda remember that… okay, Miss Clavel wasn’t a nun… well… that’s a little weird, are you su— MADELINE ISN’T FRENCH?!????

We ❤ our bread, we ❤️ our butter, but most of all, we ❤ each other

how do you manage to make a video about every niche thing i'm obsessed with

this just resurfaced a deeply buried memory of me learning what a guillotine was at like 5 years old from that Madeline book

Honestly you've become one of my favourite Youtubers and I'm currently rewatching all your videos. Even when I haven't necessarily cared about the topic before/have never heard of it like here, you still manage to make me excited about it. I'm in a real bad place in life currently and rewatching your videos is making me appreciate things like this that life has to offer, even if it sounds a little weird to type it out like that
So yeah- just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your videos if you're even going to read this lol

the lacemaking sweatshop scared me so much as a kid

i love how you call it "Dee Eye See" company instead of that little brainworm we all have that goes "DIC :)"

i’m so glad someone made a comprehensive video about madeline! i’m named after her and i’ve been very into the lore and the toys ever since i was little

It’s weird to think my mother probably grew up with this series like I did during the nineties

The closing narration is so weirdly ominous

“And that’s all there is, there isn’t anymore” fades to black
