Great idea for a series of videos David. Well done. That tankard was a real stunner. I really found it interesting and am looking forward to the next one. Cheers,

The only one I took a guess on was the silver tankard - £3,000 , so I was a bit out. Thanks David.

Fun - I like these vids. Got the tanker right on.

I guessed 6000 on the silver tankard. All 3 objects were amazing, I’d be happy to own any of them.

I guessed £2.5k for the teapot, a bit off, £1800 for the badge/medal, not far, then before the valuation I guessed £8k for the tankard, so pretty pleased with the guess even though the final hammer price was quite a bit lower.

Lovely tankard.
I have a matching pair of silver goblets that were made to commemorate the 350th anniversary of The Company of Master Cutlers. Perhaps I should get them valued.

All mine were far too optimistic. Good thing that I Am not in the trade.

I've often wondered how some silver goes black and yet others stay like they were just made

I was in Chipping Norton on 6.10.25 and bought a meat skewer listed as William IV 1832, and paid £90 for it. I instantly recognised the Hallmark as George III 1792, so it's gone from 19th C to 18th C! Only thing I don't know yet, is the Maker's Mark of RC. Very clear Hallmarks too. It has an unusual Crest - a Pineapple with two axes sticking out of it!
