Love it how the person doing the chapter divisions just went "Oh, sod it" halfway through, making Richard Whitely seem incredibly interesting.

David Mitchell should just be the hignfy host full time. He's perfect for it.

2 hours of footage, some of which contains David Mitchell. Title rectified.

"We're in a lot of trouble as a species if people refuse to believe in things they couldn't actually do themselves"

Well David.... you're right. We're in a lot of trouble as a species.

More like 20 mins of david mitchel.

fun fact: in the same show of the unbelievable truth where they claimed the monkey wrench thing, they had earlier slacked QI off for a mistake. Which was a revenge for the hedgehog thing.
They made peace in a christmas episode with Stephen, Alan, Rob and  john lloyd.

The discovery of Richard III's skeleton shows that he did have scoliosis, so not hunched but crooked.

Johnny Noose from Ross at 9.30 deserved way more!!! As did Stephen's mumbling with Alan and Ross' reaction.

I just love that bloke!

20:39 Interesting fact: elephants have their testicles inside their bodies. This causes them to have significantly higher rates of defective sperm than mammals with testicles in scrotums outside of their bodies. To deal with this, elephants evolved their immune systems to detect and destroy defective sperm; as a side effect of this, their immune systems are also very very good at detecting cancerous cells in their bodies, which means that elephants are far more highly resistant to cancers than humans are.

1:20:35 the family in the old TV show "lost in space" were also called Robinson.

David is just a pure delight to listen to!

And... this is the first clip in quite some time, where we have adults who manage to pronounce " Qatar " the way it is supposed to, instead of... " Cutter ". 😅

This bloke was bloody hilarious with Peep Show and Upstart Crow and his book is probably great too

1:57:40 no it's not. if you slow the sound effect down from TOS it is whoosh followed by someone saying "nothin'".

It just occured to me that, because of this QI appearance, David would have been keenly aware of the existence of the British Garden Museum, meaning he knew Lee probably wasn't lying about donating his dibber to them. Yet he played along.

9:25 ... 13 wraps on a "Hangman's Noose" ... That is why 13 is considered a un-lucky number

Two hours of sheer enjoyment :)

10:04 😂 doorman

I love Bill Bailey man 😂

18:17 I'm completely baffled by this. I'm English and have NEVER EVER used Fahrenheit (I can't, too awkward, never in my life have) ... and the answer given here, and discussed further, is in Fahrenheit.
