Dave James came in to talk about public speaking, ADHD and the anger he carried for decades. He also gave us the funniest episode we have recorded in the studio so far.

Dave is a two-time TEDx speaker, speaking coach, comedian, and former A&E nurse. He is also the man Rich credits with transforming the way he approached his own TEDx talk.

In this episode, Dave explains how the murder of a school friend when he was 14 affected the way he processed grief, and why anger followed him well into adulthood. He discusses his recent ADHD diagnosis, his ongoing exploration of autism, and the relief that came from understanding that some of his previous outbursts may have been the result of years spent trying to regulate an undiagnosed neurodivergent brain.

The conversation also covers nerves, vulnerability, people-pleasing, changing careers, finding community and learning to speak without chasing perfection.

Then everything deteriorates.

There are celebrity lookalikes, questionable photographs, Brian’s behaviour in Foot Locker, Harri’s parking habits, several inappropriate questions and a potential return to stand-up comedy after ten years away.

Get this episode to 100 likes and Harri has agreed to get back on stage.
