Watching all the youtube reactions to this show is my new religion

11:11 “what are we gonna break today?” they’re gonna break hearts

The women in this show were beautifully written.

29:31 while i completely agree that Connor is doing a phenomenal job, i think a lot of us are missing some of the choices Hudson is making with Shane. Ilya is definitely guarded and has walls up, but his personality is inherently bigger and easier to portray on screen. Whereas shane is a calm quiet personality. His reactions are very subtle but they are so present. The scene with he and rose… his gestures, the way his features subtly change/ crack. You can see in the beginning of that convo that he is shaking in his boots. He’s terrified yet he never says a word or makes any bold gestures. Hudson’s acting is superb!

One small detail right before Ilya says he loves Shane in Russian a cop drives by in the background. Such a powerful choice.

Jacob Tierney casually delivered the best hour of tv for 2025 like it's no big deal. This episode is so great, both in terms of what's doing for the story, but also in terms of technical quality. It's amazing what a director can do when they care for the material. And of course the acting. It's so funny seeing people who are just starting the show and say "ew it's just soft core" and have no idea what a good thing they're missing. I genuinely feel sorry for them because they can't even imagine how physical intimacy can lead to something beyond.

"I'm coming to the cottage!" 🏡 Those 5 words have shifted timelines. I think it's the new: I LOVE YOU. 🥰

"Will you cometomycottagethissummer?". Best delivery of a line ever! 🤣

“It’s a fan. He’s a fan. He loves his fans. What a fan” 🤣💀

The way the Russian monologue broke the floodgates, relatable.

17:11 The cop car flashing past as Ilya confesses his love…. the layers!

The exchange between Ilya & his brother would suggest that Alexei knows about Ilya's sexuality, and has been holding it over him for years. Ilya doesn't seem to have very much sense of self-worth, despite his often arrogant demeanor. Alexei repeatedly calls him the F-slur in the series, and Ilya never reacts, but when he was rude about Svetlana, that's when Ilya punches him and tells him he wants nothing more to do with him. He then tells Svetlana that he doesn't "deserve" her. This lost and lonely, bereaved boy, who has been supporting his whole awful family for years, without an ounce of thanks for doing so, thinks he doesn't deserve his one true friend! He absolutely breaks my heart. The monologue on the phone nearly finished me altogether. He's such a broken soul when he's far away from Shane, I just want to scoop him up and give him a big cuddle! Connor Storrie needs to win ALL of the awards for that scene, and the show everything for this episode. It's so beautifully done.

"What a dick!" Shane: "You have no idea..."

I cried three times in this episode then “I’m coming to the cottage” shifted my brain chemistry 😭 this show is 12/10

Are we gonna break the bed? ...Are we gonna break the dresser?

No, they are gonna break hearts 😀

24:55 that's why a representation is matters🙌🫶
