This is one of the most influential song in kpop to break into the west IMO. So many got introduced and hooked to kpop as a result of this song.

They didn’t break up.  They have a group world tour this year. Like you said, they all did their solo albums and also some acting this past year.

Jisoo is a crazy story.  She is an extremely popular Award Winning Lead Dramatic Actress working on only top film and tv projects as the Lead Actress and holds the record for the sales of a music album by a solo Kpop female (think combination Jennifer Lawrence and Adele).  And she is regularly rated as the most beautiful face in female Kpop since she is the epitome of Korean beauty standards.  She just completed an extensive tour as a solo artist throughout Asia. She would be the Beyonce of any other Kpop group, but in Blackpink Jisoo gets the least lines and the least face time in just about every Blackpink music video.  That should tell you how talented every other member of Blackpink is.

this song got viral everywhere with the choreo too, its definitely the one that made them break into the western market, a lot of people got into kpop because of this song and its still one of the most popular kpop songs ever, its just like ''How you like that'', people sometimes dont know its them but everyone has heard it before.
Edit: they didnt break up, they renewed their contract as a group and will continue to promote as a group with YG Ent. but they didnt renew it for their solo activities, so they have freedom to do whatever they want as solo artists

This is the official Korean version and the verses are Korean. They also have a Japanese version where the rap verses are in English.

You're correct, BLACKPINK combined many genre into one song. It has vibe for everyone. Just discovered their music 2024.

There’s no leader in Blackpink. They’re all in equal ranks. Each of them have their strengths and they use that to split their roles within the group. Jennie has the vision of what she wants Blackpink to be, hence she is definitely more in the forefront in terms of the overall sound of Blackpink. Lisa’s main strength is dance so she keeps everyone in check in terms of dancing. Jisoo and Rose have been known for writing lyrics even though they are not credited in a lot of the songs (their main producer Teddy mentioned this). Coincidentally, Jisoo and Rose are the main vocalists and their voices do balance the overall tone of the group.
I wouldn’t say Jisoo is the least popular since she’s the most popular in Asia. It’s just during the solo era, even though she released a mini album, her main focus is acting since she initially joined the company to be an actress. She has a movie and k-drama coming out this year. Since she wrapped up filming her projects and the other girls have released their solo albums, they are finally coming together this late summer for a world tour. The members even said that they finished studio recording and album jackets photo shoots. They’re releasing their new songs very soon - expect late June or early July.
With that said, I’m glad you’re enjoying Blackpink so far!! Always looking forward to your reactions.

The Tokyo dome remix. Du du du encore remix is the best Version on this song

They didnt break up
They are coming back with new album and then world tour in July

This is the song that blew them up

9:40 yea, the whole kpop industry is like that! their artists are trained before debuting in a group or as a soloist. Jennie trained for 6 years and the rest about 5/4 years. so they spend a lot of time in the company, is like a idol school, sometimes they sleep and lives there (specially the foreigners). they have a lot of classes like: vocal classes, dance classes, rap classes, language classes, star midia training and more. that's why a lot of people started listen to kpop!! their artists can do everything, is not just a singer that is good at singing and that's it, is a singer that can dance, rap, give facial expressions, write, compose, produce and that's amazing!

This is absolutely the best girl group I've ever seen. Their social skills are indescribable; no one in the group tries to push themselves into the spotlight. They support each other in everything, whether on stage, in business, or in their personal lives. I love all four of them, and they're also gorgeous without any diva attitude.

Blackpink has no leader. They're all equal group members. You might consider "Journey and Friendship". It is a good video and should fill in some of the blanks for you. I appreciate your Blackpink reactions. Thanks.

There is no main person
Jennie and Lisa are the fan favourites usually
Rosé started getting a bit more attention after APT this year and Jisoo too, they were usually the most underrated members
(They are all very famous ofc)
Yes unfortunately Jisoo doesn’t have as much lines usually, hope in their next album she will

Blackpink covers Miguel's classic R&B hit SURE THING. They perform it live, sing it all in English, and Jennie and Lisa wrote rap lines to add to their version of the song. Many think it's better than the original! Would enjoy seeing your reaction to it.

IMO, this song is great and amazing, but not their best.  However, this is the song that made Blackpink into an international superstar.  This is the song that hit with Western audiences and started creating their massive fanbase in the US and Europe.  BTW, Korean language has more words ending in vowels which makes their Korean raps sound better than the translated English raps.

Jisoo focuses more on her acting & Fashion career, but she's also very popular in the Kpop scene & in BP. I recommend "Earthquake" by Jisoo, & listen to "Happiest Girl" by Blackpink. So you can appreciate Jisoo's vocals more, & see what SHE brings to the team😊.

They don’t have an official leader they are all equal since they are all good at different things
But the ‘leader’ role is prob Jennie bc she takes care of the important stuff like overall organisation is done by her as the members have said, talking about what the girls should rehearse again, talking with their company and she’s taking the important decisions

My girl been listening to Kpop for a long time and I used to hate but this is actually fire and they have bars!!!! Can you react to Shut Down- Black Pink they bring bars

personal opinion : all of them equally outshines and tribute to the group in different color. They are in the same style but one is sophisticated (Rose) one has swag (Jennie) one is stable in singing - not mentioning she is quirky in personality but incredibly beautiful in Asian POV (Jisoo) and one is rapping machine with marylin monroe smile. (Lisa)
They have one-of-kind charisma individually. (My bias is Jennie FYI)
