DAMN, I WAS WRONG ABOUT K-POP?!
FIRST TIME REACTION to BLACKPINK – ‘How You Like That’ M/V and I was NOT prepared for this! The visuals, the energy, the BARS?! BLACKPINK came through with pure heat, and now I finally understand why they’re one of the biggest groups on the planet.
In this video, I react to BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” for the very first time, and this might be the moment that turned me into a full BLINK. From the production to the styling and choreography, every second had me SHOCKED. K-pop is on another level!

People might have faverates but, blackpink is the biggest GG. Anybody who thinks otherwise is just delusional at this point.
YG is known for its hip-hop roots (with popular groups like Big Bang and 2NE1), so when they began teasing a new girl group in 2011 the public took notice. There were early lineup rumors, public teasers, even features with Big Bang members, especially Jennie and Rosé, but the debut kept getting delayed without explanation. That uncertainty, especially for teenage girls who’d already trained for years, was crushing. They were always “almost there,” but never quite sure if debut would actually ever happen.
So although they weren’t childhood friends, they became sisters during those tough years in YG's basement. Dorm life, daily dance training, vocal lessons, language lessons, watching other trainees leave, and wondering if they’d ever debut bonded them deeply. They became best friends and sisters. Jennie once said that during trainee days the girls were her only friends because they spent all their time together. By the time they debuted, YG didn’t even assign a leader because the group had already learned to support each other like equals.
So when BLACKPINK finally debuted on August 8, 2016, the members were already household names. The public hyped. Needless to say their debut was a resounding success.
The impact was immediate - “Whistle” hit #1 on all major Korean music charts within hours (a “perfect all-kill”, extremely rare for rookies), and “Boombayah” topped the global YouTube trending list for music. Critics and fans noted the group’s strong vocals and stage presence after their first Inkigayo stage win on August 14, 2016 despite it being their first performance.
And the rest is history. The biggest group in the world. Not Korean group. Not girl group. Biggest Group.
But there's a monster standing in the shadows...
