For a franchise as old as WH40K is, there isn't a huge amount of information available on the precise specifics of how and why certain augmentations were chosen and integrated. I might do a follow up that really dives into the biology of it all and perhaps even proposes a more refined augmentation set, because I am certain there are some augmentations that could be performed differently and others either replaced or not used at all, and still get the same net results with higher survivability. If you'd like to see that, leave a like!

One description of Space Marines that I love is this - they are as far from being human as is possible without being a different species

The lore and depth of this franchise is fascinating.

Refeshing to hear a real human voice in this post ai world.

What is your Life?   My Honor is my Life.
What is your Fate?   My Duty is my Fate.
What is your Fear?   My Fear is to Fail.
What is your Reward? My Salvation is my Reward.
What is your Craft?  My Craft is Death.
What is your Pledge? My Pledge is Eternal Service.

You have the voice for breaking into the 40k community as a creator.

The preomner, being in the digestive tract, should have named "the pre-omnomnom-ner" lol

Nice! This is really well done. I hope you do more 40k stuff.

Man this just shows how different Space Marines and Spartans are, space marine are like a Swiss army knifes built like a tank, Spartans are like the SAS on Captain America super solider serum

Wait, one of the most chill Halo creators is making 40k content? Good stuff.

So glad you've brought your talents to the 40K verse

Oh yes, 40k, now we are cooking with propane.

We making it out the Underhive with this one 🗣🗣🗣

Well this is some impeccable timing. Some of my friends just dragged me into the depths of Space Marine 2.

The augmentations of astartes are easily the most underrated part about them everyone seems to think they’re just buff dudes in power armor for some reason novels like “ brothers of the snake” or “ leviathan “ does a good job of showing how they use their abilities

One thing that always hit me first about astartes is that in the games and popular media at least, they never show use of many of these organs. I probably need to read the novels but some implants like the Mucranoid Gland, Oolitic kidney, multi-lung, and Lyman's ear are never really shown. Even things like the occulobe always seem overshadowed by all the extra data their power armour gives them.

In any of the novels are there training montages of Neophytes getting accustomed to their senses? Saying things like "I can taste the air so much more", "I can see sharper than a bird of prey", "I swam or sat underwater for hours without surfacing", "I ate literal waste and didn't get sick", etc.?

Huzzah! Installation00 is doing 40k breakdowns! Lasguns! Bolters! Tau tech! Imperial Navy weapons and ships! Ork tech! Let's goooo!

Luis' transformation into a Space Marine enhanced his good nature. It survived. His humanity was bolstered by his transition from boy to Astartes.

This has to be the best sci-fi lore for super soldiers from all sci fi ever written, its amazing how we have never had a movie made from 40k

It’s snowing outside today with not much to look forward to then archmagos installation 00 decides to drop this banger big respect man

There’s also the primaris augmentations like the belisarian furnace, the magnificant, and the steel sinews which slows marines to bite through metal cables or fight and recover from the brink of death
