Customer service is highly undervalued. I always try to leave with a positive statement to the server because life is hard.

And this is why we are not crossing that picket line.

Thank you for putting this story out there.  This is like...90% of fast food experiences, not just coffee shops.  Can confirm.  Have worked for 2 coffee chains, a semi restaurant style place, and a fast food joint

Never ceases to amaze me how understaffed fast food places keep their teams, this sound like the work of at least 2 probably more people

Thank you for this blistering reminder that so called "unskilled labour" just absolutely isn't "unskilled" by ANY stretch of the imagination, and labelling it as such is just an excuse for bosses to get away with paying less than the work is worth. One thing I've really recognised in my working life so far (around twelve years and counting) is that wages absolutely do not correlate with effort. The hardest, most physically and mentally taxing jobs are so often poorly paid. And so often the most highly paid people in a company are some of the laziest bastards in the building. My most stressful job was teaching middle school-aged kids, and my oh my was I not paid enough to compensate for the sheer effort that took 🤣🤣

I worked for Starbucks for almost nine years. I was an opener for a lot of it. This is so relatable!

The fact that in the US people have to work until the day they go into labor...

Portland has banned gasoline powered leaf blowers starting in January and I am soooooo excited about it.

Hi from a fellow Caribou Coffee barista! I worked the food station/ drive thru because I was a combat veteran and could handle intense stressful situations while at the same time realizing how trivial and meaningless the interaction was. That being said, it was by far and away my most stressful civilian job.

I once had a store catch on fire while i was working in it. Starbucks was more stressful than that

Honestly you could compile these stories into a collection of essays and I would buy it for me and all of my friends. I LOVED this story!!

SOMEBODY GET THIS WOMAN A BOOK DEAL

Oh my gosh listening to this sounds like when I played overcooked on our switch and the kitchen was burning down😂😂😂

The overwhelming amount of excitement I felt at your statement on "efficiency." I too, get copious amounts of satisfaction from efficiency. I truly enjoy your videos, on both channels.

Been there. I seriously try to be extremely kind to any kind of service workers. Regardless of place, it mostly sucks.

I made a layout guide for my Starbucks food station fridge! I was also on food station a majority of the time. By choice, because it was the least customer interaction and the most I could control a station. It got to the point where I was the one doing the food pulls and orders despite not being a manager at all. I was campaigning for there to be a food management position by the time I left that job.

Great video.  Stand out for me (even though it was all good) was the blurb at the end "Leaf Blowers should not exist."  Amen, sister!

America is so distopian. It ain't normal, folks!

Another self-proclaimed Efficiency Expert here, and I feel seen.

I would like to hear the complete story of your pregnancy, and subsequent choice you made for the child. I completely respect your personal choices to become or not to become a parent.

I worked at Subway all throughout High School and legitimately loved prep.  Keep me in the back industrial slicing vegetables and baking bread!
