Fun fact about the layer of violence: the reason the levels are so drastically different from one another is because they represent the three different parts of Violence in Dante’s Inferno
Light Up The Night is violence against others
No Sound, No Memory is violence against the self
Like Antennas To Heaven is violence against God and nature

8:44 What makes this funnier is that in the lore, Sentries have the most realistic rendering of the known machines, so this dude is witnessing this in all of it's horrific glory.

I have been commenting this everywhere I can: red skull symbol is sulfur, blue skull symbol is mercury, and some misc skulls have the symbol salt (alchemic symbols). when placed on respective pedestals they fill with appropriate material (blue gives mercury, red burning sulfur aka brimstone, and you can find a salt skull in the 4-3 light room on a pile of possibly salt)
In hermetic alchemy these are the tria prima, believed to be what fundamentally composes all substances and they are related to the body (salt), the spirit (mercury), and the soul (sulfur).

I’m vibrating with anticipation to see your 7-1 jumpscare

Random fun fact
Every machine was made to counter the last in the war
The Earthmovers were the last thing put into full production before the end of the war
V1 was a prototype that never made it to full production (Hence us being the only V1)
It is heavily implied that V1 was legitimately Built to Counter the Earthmovers, which is why the moment you show up, the Earthmover instantly tries to kill you

Plus, I mean it makes sense
V1 would pretty much be perfect for climbing an earthmover, and then killing everybody on the city on it's back for fuel, to then enter and kill the earthmover itself

Also bonus fun fact
The Guttermen have human bodies in those coffins on their backs, and that's how they're powered

Additional bonus bonus fun fact
The new death screen implies several things
V1 is 100% sentient
V1 has organs
V1 wants to scream as it dies, unfortunately, it lacks a vocal module
V1 has no mouth but must scream

V2 has a vocal module, hence it screaming as it dies
And there's also an eye that shows up for like a frame at the very end of the death screen

Fun Fact the glass of blood next to Hakita in 7-S is V2 after the second fight

fun fact: v1 is built DIRECTLY to merc those earthmovers. the scream at the start of the fight is not a war cry, it is the earthmover literally crying in fear.

25:24 in the new death thing at the end for a frame or 2 you can see v1 telling himself,
“I DONT WANT TO DIE” 4 times

It makes sense that the limbo encore is full of machines with barely any husks because Gabriel said that limbo and lust were fully wiped out by machines

41:19 this isn't a new mechanic, the earthmover brain's magenta lasers always functioned like this- it just wasn't actually explained in the level until now (which is probably why you thought it was new)

something I noticed about Light Up The Night is that it has a strong resemblance to a lot of the ground footage of the London Blitz back in WW2, which feels very appropriate given it's represnting Violence against Others.

33:49 that is scream of pure terror

29:48 "Hello Friend. :D"

29:48 "Hello friend." gets socked in the jaw with a half ton fist of steel

26:48 bro caught trying to +GUARD BREAK with the feedbacker 🤦‍♂😭
27:56 bro caught AGAIN 😭😭😭

33:49 is the most VISCERAL, GENUINE, and CARTOONY scream I've EVER heard, oh my GOD

I have a good horror movie resistance  like every jumpscare I've ever witnessed never managed to get me to yell 3:00 the only jump-scare in a video game that ever made me scream

16:16 "That's so stupid, i love it!" Is literally a description fit for the entirety of ultrakill, just as much as your whole reaction is. Peak video as always.

4:15 Knuckles77: "I really hated the spot that we were fighting him in" Ultrakill: "How about this spot?"

31:54 obligatory Knuckles caught trying to parry with the knuckle blaster comment
