its said in the lore that each machine was designed to counter the last, the earthmover was the last one that went into mass production and V1 is just a prototype, meaning he's literally designed to fight and kill that thing, which explains why it immediately takes notice of him at the beginning of the level, seeing you as a massive threat and tries to hit you with a city-destroying laser point blank before getting nailed by the other one

>open video
>instantly get flashbanged by "Mindflayer has some competition"
>the "competition" is dismembered and minced gore inside a hollow stone shell that has somewhat feminine shape

i can't say i don't agree tho

Fun fact about the 1000-THR name of the Earthmover from Hakita
They are called like that for 2 reasons: THR is short for Thor, because of the lightning they shoot, and 1000 in japanese is pronounced Sen (they are made in Japan as the signs on them suggest), making them Sen-Thr, a playword on Centaur. In the first circle of the Violence layer in the Divine Comedy, the centaurs are the creatures guarding the river of blood with bows and arrows, making sure that the sinners don't escape. This is why they first appear in 7-2, looming in the distance overseeing the river of blood.

7-3 is a literal suicide forest

It’s the part of the violence layer where souls that committed violence against themselves went

The trees are amalgamations of people

7-3's music "Suffering Leaves Suffering Leaves" is so melancholic because the level is based around the second ring of Violence from Inferno; Violence Against Oneself. Those who squander the Lord's creation and cut their life short are made to suffer as warped and gnarled trees.
It plays into the whole motif of the cruelty of Hell being unfitting for the foolish actions mortal humans made in what is ultimately a transient life, which is explored a bit in the secret level terminals.

Mindflayer and Guttertank having the most ptds inducing war to decide who is the most annoying cybergrind enemy

In case you don't know, in the original Dante's inferno violence was split into 3 sub-layers for the different types of violence: violence against god, violence against others, and violence against self. How closely the dev follows dante's inferno is pretty inconsistent, but it seems he followed quite closely for 7-3 which is the self part and all the trees are people who un-alived themselves which is why they all have humanoid shapes and why that level is so melancholy.

Interesting fact, but the Guttermen’s data entry mentions their use in trench warfare, which heavily implies that the Final War was actually World War I, but had lasted for 2 centuries

man begins the video as kira yoshikage, admiring hands and comparing them to a female figure

The knuckleblaster shockwave can also break the gutterman's shield

I love the ultrakill machine designed because they can be discribed as either "angelic war robot destroys hell and fights angels" or "gopro with loose change threatens all remaining life on earth." And "giant robot cities that stretch out like antenna to heaven" or "giant giraffe with advanced lazer pointer"

20:38 “im just kinda attacking for the sake of attacking”
its like some kind of,,, war,,, without reason,,,

The remaining spawner arm enemy is the "Joke" boss of the layer, so be ready for that in the secrets

imagine you're playing the cybergrind and it spawns a whole flippin earthmover off the side of the cube

12:15 DAMN, that transition was SEEMLESS

i believe the dark skies are not just an artistic choice thing, but rather a deliberate part of the lore, as in, the nuclear winter

The game was good already, but with this update its epicness parameters has further risen... like antennaes to Heaven.

Its like tragic... you know melonco... meloncock.. melonco-c-co melancholy.. like melanchocick... 4:49

11:10 what was even the point

5:49 honestly a mood fuck the guttertanks glad you helped the mindflayer
