I can't stop watching 80s horror films and I don't think I want to stop LOL these films are absolutely peak. It feels like no other era did this genre as well as the 80s have 🤍🖤🤍🖤

ALSO

I'm just learning now that T TOOK THEM *36* YEARS FOR A BEETLEJUICE SEQUEL???? WHY???? THIS MOVIE DESERVE MORE - I would have been SO UPSET, I need at least 3 more Beetlejuice films starring Michael Keaton 🥲

Last thing - can anyone tell me why Betelgeuse was chosen for the name? I know the star was named first (by a few hundred years iirc) - so was he named after the star?? And why (I'm curious hehe I swear you guys are better than google)

Fun fact, Otho is also the voice of the mayor in the nightmare before Christmas, and Catherine O’Hara is the voice of the witch trick-or-treater and Sally

0:57: It helps that both films were directed by Tim Burton.

Keaton was actually in Beetlejuice before Batman, one of the reasons people thought he wouldn't be able to pull off such a serious role, which is even more ironic considering the only live action Batman we had at that point was the Adam West series.

"I've seen the Exorcist about 167 times, and it keeps gettin' funnier every single time I see it!  Not to mention the fact that you're talking to a dead guy...  So what do you think?!?  Ya think I'm qualified?"

That line is easily my favorite of the whole movie.

Regarding Otho's final punishment, his clothes were transformed into a 1970's leisure suit.  In the late '80's, nothing was considered more tacky than the leisure suit.  It even inspired the video game "Leisure Suit Larry."

There was a Beetlejuice cartoon, with 94 episodes.  They also released the sequel movie, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice last year.

"You gotta have some kinda moral compass right?"

Beetlejuice: "lol. Lmao, even."

Oh the 80’s, where the F Bomb and suicide jokes could be in a PG movie… wild times lol

Michael Keaton is just amazing in everything.

The "NICE F*CKIN MODEL!" line was completely improvised by Keaton. The tree wasn't supposed to fall over when he kicked it and that was his reaction when it did LMAO

Nobody owns the copyright for Night of the Living Dead, so it's one of the movies you can show in it's entirety. That's why it became so popular, because television stations could air it for free.

the "nice f'n model" line was an adlib. the tree wasnt supposed to fall, it was a shot at the props dept. burton loved it so much he kept it in the movie

a couple Easter eggs too,  the attention k mart shoppers line on top of the umbrella is a figure for a nightmare before Christmas,  and he has batman ears

Learning that the same actor played batman and beetle juice, is what got me hooked on movies and wanting to know more

There's been a sequel, cartoon and a musical.

Beetlejuice is a Halloween classic as much as Home Alone is a Christmas classic.

Betelgeuse is actually the name of an incredibly bright star in the constellation Orion. In Arabic is translates to "hand of the Central one" and is located in Orion's shoulder. It's also part of the ancient Egyptian constellation of Osiris, their God of the Underworld. Tim Burton just chose it because it sounded like "Beetle Juice" and it linked him to space and the afterlife.

Mr. Mom and Johnny Dangerously are musts for pre-Batman Keaton movies.

I like that Adam and Barbara found their heaven in each other before they had to die.

Fun Fact: The scene were he kicks over the tree model and shouts "Nice F-N model!" (honk honk) was completely ad-libbed. When he kicked the tree which wasn't supposed to fall over, he looked over at the production manager and shouted the line. Tim Burton apparently cracked up over it and they added the sound effects for the honking.
