Winter dead outs are a pain, in most cases it’s something we all get. This year I’ve got my fair share and after the Asian hornet problem last summer I have a larger amounts way more than I expected but "it is what it is" I just have to get on and face facts there’s no point in delaying the work otherwise the wax moth will get to work in the spring and make a mess of all the frames where most of them are salvageable.

You just invested a lot into your apiary, cool head is needed too to not stretch the limits too much.
The last thing you need now is more stress that can trigger just too many things long- and even short term.
All the best!
Looking good, your combs don't look that old to me, but without using medications for wax moth or AFB I think you are ahead of the problem. Your new shop looks like it's coming together well.
I sleep good at night.....
