so a horse walks into a bar…

i love how john's explanation of "shakesperean" is just "the hero's journey" paraphrased

I keep a fake corpse in my backseat so when serial killers get in, they see it and say to themselves, “ah, my B.” It’s common courtesy amongst serial killers not to go after one of their own.

Lord, I've gone through alcohol withdrawals and it almost killed me, the guy needed a hospital for detox. He was likely experiencing very severe hypertension which can cause cardiac arrest, seizures, and strokes.

Im glad I'm not the only one who checks their backseat in their car in case someones there ngl.

The face their daughter was making while her mom was debating having a shot mad me so sad, and the relief when she didn’t take it :(

If you guys ever accidentally put dish soap in your dishwasher and it gets all over your kitchen this video is good to have on in the background
This video truly graced my life at that opportune time

The way the horse was treated made me sad… he was clearly stressed and uncomfortable 😢

8:23 I would not, in any way, describe myself as a HUGE fan of horses, but I almost had a fucking panic attack when it slipped 😨

As a horse girly myself, I am horrified and disgusted by that horse being forced into the bar. That was actual animal abuse and people minimize it way too much. Horses get hurt and brutalized too. I’m absolutely sure the scene was concocted by the film crew. Don’t be fooled if you think that was just an everyday event.

“I got a tourist” is probably my favorite quote ever. Because yeah, what the fuck do you mean you “got a tourist”?!

Unsurprisingly, that pirate bar immediately changed back to pirates after Taffer left, and closed in 2015.

When Jon Taffer said "Aren't we missing someone?" I thought he was asking about the horse, not Yum Yum.

I like to imagine that the couple was in denial about their drinking problem, but the chaos of the night honestly made them realize just how bad it was. Like "Oh a horse came in, and shit in my bar, and I met a reality tv star, and I don't remember any of that," I think it was just providence that made them realize "Yeah he's right I have a drinking problem" because I'm sure the daughter had been saying this for a long time and I bet they just brushed it off like "Honey, it's a bar it's a part of the atmosphere, everybody havin' a good time," but realizing they got so black out drunk they were on television black out drunk after a horse shit in their bar without them noticing or cleaning it up. Probably put it into perspective for them

Walks into the bar wearing something that resembles a kids coloring book, order a glass of water. Lady even Rango the lizard ordered liquor.

Shakespear would love bar rescue

Jon when the drunk ass owner starts talking over him when he literally just told them not to:

FYI not sure if anyone’s brought this up, but there’s another aged appendage to the Tafferverse called Hungry Investors if you wanna check that out! It’s basically Shark Tank meets Restaurant Impossible for the sake of comparison

“We have a problem with Yum Yum right from the get go,” will always be the funniest thing to say with no context. Just toss that out at a party and gauge the reactions.

As the husband of a woman who LOVES smoking and barbecuing meat,  including making her own rub, I can tell you, the wood is very much an important part of the process. We recommend applewood chips.
