How I Remade GD Colon's Old Level

Black And White is a level made by ‪@GDColon‬ back in 2016. Being made in update 2.0, t's a product of its time. Very simple and rough around the edges. I always felt like the level had a certain charm to it though. Since Geometry Dash has many more tools to work with, and I'm a very experienced creator in the game... I decided to reimagine the level in my own way to see what I could come up with.

This was a very fun level to make :) The gameplay is kinda bad, and this wasn't a very serious project overall... but I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out! Thanks for RobTop for the weekly demon lmao... I was NOT expecting that.

Anyway I wasn't originally gonna make a behind the scenes video on this level but I changed my mind! Hope you enjoy seing how this level was made! This video ended up a lot longer than I meant it to and took over 40 hours to make (not counting building the level) lmao

Sorry but if you watch the part at 13:24 at under 720p quality, than you can't see the effect :(
I really thought I lowered the framerate of the effect to be low enough to work at 480p and bellow (which have half the framerate) but it looks like I miscalculated.
Sorry about that. You just have to watch that specific part in high definition to see the effect lol

Dude making this you sounded like actually HAPPY! LIKE THAT IS SO AMAZING!! I can tell you put so much effort into both your levels and videos, but in some parts of the video you almost sounded like you were giggling, or about to, which really made me smile bc it lets me know that maybe you’re recovering from the insomnia? Anyway I had so much fun beating this level, AND I GOT ALL THE COINS! Also if you managed to enter the level into Infra’s cc, I’m wishing you loads of luck!

The complex effects and editor tricks all literally come from simple methods, I’m happy at how creative gd has become since 20-freaking-13, gd has aged very well

The level and this video are both awesome. The amount of effort put into them is just wild. The effects, transitions, and designs are all put so well together and the explanations of how you did it is really enjoyable to watch. I always gotta sit back and grab myself some popcorn once ya upload

I gotta say, even though this a "low-effort project" that "isn't as impressive" as something like Glorious Fortress or The Cellar Path, I really did like this level. Bit unbalanced and the XL length definitely makes it a medium demon, but with enough practice, you get the hang of it, and then you realize the gameplay is incredibly fun. I love the effects that you used in this level and the way that you added and used the 2.2 features in the level instead of shoehorning them in. It reminded me a lot of World World and I'm really glad you made a level in that style again because even though I love the artstyle of Glorious Fortress, I miss pure effect levels like this (which I'm why I'm glad Xstar7 came back, I love his levels so much).
Great job getting weekly and you should be proud of this!
