Assault Mech stomping intensifies

Hello my good fellow sphereoids, would you like to talk about the current socioeconomic state of the inner sphere?

Anyway the next part miiight be out by next week, idk it’s my bday week so I do have a bit going on and these vids are pretty long. Hope you enjoyed and have a great day!

18:17  Kerensky was assassinated in that AU; his right hand man was the one to take over.

Also; I love the HBS Battletech game and start with vanilla to get your feet wet.

Glad to see you continue the journey and (hopefully) having fun with this universe.

I see that you are curious about the ships and how space travel works. I mentioned  Sven van der Plank last time, and he has 30 min video about this exact topics to learn about.

And regarding the battletech game, I would recommend going with vanilla through the story and after that checking mods if you want to play the sandbox mode.

Ty for your content and best wishes.

1:40:08 Witnessing everything he had tried to preserve collapse broke Kerensky's aged heart.

18:05 What happened in that alternate timeline was he got assassinated, and his friend took over in a fit of rage.

Some of the Civilians didn’t have a choice about the trip.

I'm so glad you're continuing the series.  Couple of thoughts about some things you went over in the video:

1:  Definitely play the Vanilla game first for the 2018 HBS Battletech game.  It will get you into how the game is played and you'll be able to play the story as well.  I would suggest to get the DLC's for it though so the Raven, Hatchetman, and the Bullshark would be available to you.  Not to mention the other mods also probably need all DLC's to work.  Slight warning about the mods though, some of them are HUGE and will take awhile to load them up unless you have a fast PC.  Roguetech is one of the bigger ones and is also the less cannon mod since it puts in most units available in the BT universe and then you can add them to whatever era map you like.  The 3062 one is pretty good if you want a slightly more cannon mod while also having it big.

2:  It would be incredibly difficult to remove the already established feudal system that is in most of the Inner Sphere's culture and governments.  You not only have to create a type of government that all the Great Houses will accept and enforce, but it must also out last the noble families who's houses have been alive for generations upon generations.  Alexander was correct when he made his speech.  The problems of the Inner Sphere could only go away with the passage of time.  Nicholas Kerensky tried to do away with the Inner Sphere's system by creating a caste system that is based on meritocracy, but because they put more emphasis on the warrior caste to not only be the military arm of the clans, but to also be the ones politically in charge of the clans themselves, they in turn created the same problem the Inner Sphere has been going through, but with different rules and outlooks.... BUT, Tex will go over more of that in the next video.

3:  The Battlemaster is a very good assault mech and is also very prestigious since at least two of the Great House leaders used Battlemasters as their own personal mechs during the events before and during the 4th Succession War.  Look up the box artwork for "A Game Of Armored Combat" and if you come across a big blue mech firing a PPC while holding the arm of an enemy mech, then you found the Battlemaster.  Spoiler alert btw for the Warrior Trilogy, that artwork is based on an event that occurs in the story.  I won't say which book though.

4:  IIRC, prosthetics during the Star League era and going into the Civil War were advanced enough to where you can have them and still pilot a mech.  Sadly, this technology would become LosTech during the Succession Wars and wouldn't start popping up again until the events of the novel *En Garde*.

5:  When it comes to Alexander Kerensky and how good of a leader he was, I would say that he was probably one of the best military leaders the Inner Sphere had.  As a General, he has the military prowess to work through problems and also understood the political machinations for a plan to work.  In peace time is where he falters and most sources agree that Kerensky didn't really have plan or a planet in mind when the SLDF began their Exodus.  He had two objectives.  To make sure they were far enough away from the Inner Sphere so that they wouldn't be found and to also find worlds good enough for colonization.  The first part is easy.  The second is where things get complicated.  I wouldn't be surprised if they did find some worlds that would have suit their needs, but because of how close they were to the Inner Sphere, it wouldn't have worked.  So Kerensky had the very difficult task of keeping a military army together during peacetime while also not telling them that he had no idea where they were going.

6:  So the Battletech lore after the Clan Invasion, more specifically after the Battle of Tukayyid, was sorta.....rushed.  The Clans agreed not to make a push into the Inner Sphere past the demarcation line set at Tukayyid, but that didn't stop them from taking any planets that was on "their side" of that line and the Clans were still being a thorn in the Inner Sphere's side during this time.  It wasn't until the Second Star League was created that the Inner Sphere joined together for one purpose.  To find the Clan Homeworlds and annihilate Clan Smoke Jaguar.  This was the task force Tex mentioned a few times that picked up on Alexander Keresnsky's final message to the Inner Sphere during Operation Bulldog.  After that is where the lore gets very rushed and the FedCom Civil War begans when Katrina Davion Steiner made a power play.  Afterwards, the Second Star League breaks apart since their main enemy they banded together for, (The Clans) have mostly stopped dicks and they accomplished their mission of eradicating the Smoke Jaguars.  This pissed of Comstar who saw the rise of the Star League as part of their prophecy.  When it broke apart, they had a very big "tantrum" fit and started a war against the Inner Sphere in the Jihad Era.  After that story line, we go into the Dark Age and ilClan Eras.  I already have said WAY too much here and not wanting to spoil too much, but the HPG system that was still operational for the Inner Sphere suddenly stopped working which in turn created massive chaos.  The Dark Ages are then ended when the Clans finally make it to Terra and one clan becomes the ilClan.  This starts our current era in Battletech.  The ilClan Era.

You'll understand a bit more in the next video when Tex does a deep dive into Clan Society in his next video.  Can't wait until then.  Also, I too am a whiskey drinker and will choose that over wine any day of the week.....twice on Sundays.

Edit:  SHIT!  Almost forgot.  Happy Birthday.

good to see you continuing this, most youtubers stop when tex's videos get to the 2 hour mark.

as a representative of Clan Ghost Bear I welcome you to Stranta Mechty don't mind the Elementals there here for your protection during your tour through Clan history we hope you enjoy your time here 😊

I've been waiting for this

Woooooooo 🔥🔥

Do vanilla. Rouge teck is an amazing mod but its adavance so its better to see if you like the base vers first at least

Glad to see you continuing this series and sad to hear you’ll cover the Sven stuff off line but that’s fair (tho do remember the 5hr ones are the combined series while there are individual episodes each around 30 minutes, so there is choice to do 1-2 episodes a video if you want to do it that way).

But more on.
Talking on Arron De Chavalier

Fun little fact, it’s very much noted and hinted that he and Hazen kind of hit it off during the later stages of the Terran campaign.
As noted Arrons two oldest died during the hegemony campaign - one a regimental colonel the other a brigade general.
His two middle children were killed protecting the Palace and Royal family from Amaris - it’s suspected they were apart of the teams who helped try and get royal family kids out.
And finally his wife and youngest child were taken prisoner on Terra. They were put into an underground camp and left to waste and rot with the rest. When the camp was discovered De Chav went down, saw the state of what everyone had become down there and just told his men to put them out of their misery as any survivors were essentially feral or already gone and dead just hadn’t been informed.

As such when he was leading with Kerensky and came upon Hazen the two shared in the loss of family and tragedy and over the course of the war and pre-exodus seemed to get close.
Funny enough Hazen only actually came back to the SLDF for the exodus was because it was Arron who went to talk to her about it. It’s suspected if anyone else tried she likely would have remained in the IS.
And over the course of the exodus again got closer too.

And finally just before that fateful engagement both talked to eachother telling the other to be safe and wanting to meet up again after.
Even in Clan Jade Falcon own Remembrance their is hint that the two shared a very much closer relationship.

As for the Hazen Rampage, well:
(Taken from Sarna, known as the Legend of Turkina, Elizabeth Hazens pet Falcon she adopted on arriving at the pentagon worlds and was the first to tame the newly created species. Sadly Turkina would die a few years later due to a local disease I think just months before said battle).

In shock after seeing her commanding officer and lover killed by the rebels, Hazen would witness a vision of Turkina, her beloved jade falcon. In this vision, Turkina spoke, asking her why she seemed to be giving up, and berating her for her lack of warrior spirit in that dire moment. When Hazen attempted to disbelieve the vision, Turkina told her to take five feathers from her as proof of her existence, driving the point home by wounding her mistress' hand with the strike of her beak. Hazen would later swear that once she realized what must be done, Turkina disappeared, only to reappear long enough to drop a sword into her hand, claiming it to be the very sword she once gave to Aaron DeChevilier, her love.

“Some are born to till the fields, some are destined to create. You trained from birth to be a Warrior, just as I trained at your fist when I had barely escaped the shards of my shell. To turn your back on your destiny because you are frightened or sick of the hunt is an abomination against nature.”
— Turkina to Elizabeth Hazen (Excerpt), from The Falcon's Vision.

With renewed spirit and rage borne from grief, Elizabeth Hazen would emerge from hiding and kill every rebel that she saw in bloody and brutal fashion. She would go on to lead the survivors against the rebel stronghold, leading them to victory. This event - as well as the events of the following weeks - would come to be known as the DeChavilier Massacre, and they would lead directly to the Second Exodus after the death of the Great Father.

Funny enough when you now see the crest of Clan Jade Falcon you will now understand what that symbol truly means Turkina and the sword.
And funny enough this Legend is taught and forced to be learned by all Clan Jade Falcon Sibko’s growing up. Which again will explain a lot when it comes to how they think and act.

Start with the base game with the DLCs
Befote you move to advanced

Woo, time for another one of my epics

Space Station 13 is a builder/disaster generator game that the Black Pants Legion have played a lot on YouTube.  Its gloriously stupid and much clown-homicide ensues

Play Battletech vanilla first for sure.  Go through the story mode, and do a couple of Career runs without mods, but def with the DLC to get familiar with its systems and quirks before jumping into BTA 3062.

I should have posted it on the Civil War part 2 video, but its helpful to understand a bit about the High Lords who dissolved the League
-Barbaro Liao had barely been Chancellor for 72 hours when she found herself in a border war with the Federated Suns a few years before Richard's regency ended.  This, after growing up in the absolute snakepit that was the Sian court (including escaping at least one assassination attempt that her own father may have planned) seemingly left her paranoid.  Barbara was such an enigma, and so secretive, that the identity of the father of her sons, Balthazar and Barnabas, remains a mystery to this day.
-John Davion was the accidental First Prince of the Suns, after the three people ahead of him all died in the Second Hidden War/The War of Davion Succession, so every day of his life in that role that he'd never been properly prepared for was a reminder of just how badly the League had failed his realm - that whole debacle is, to my mind, what truly killed the League.
-Kenyon Marik was a ferociously intelligent, ambitious and charismatic man with a chip on his shoulder that could be seen across the galaxy: he was the son of one of Ewan Marik's many mistresses, and Ewan Marik was a violently abusive, drunken boor who sent Kenyon's mother into exile in Canopian space mere days after Kenyon's birth.  Additionally, Kenyon had been summarily cashiered from the SLDF by General Kerensky, leaviing the ambitious aristocrat with a lifelong hatred of the general.
-Robert Steiner II was deeply jealous of Aleksandr's friendship with his military fop of a father, Michael Steiner, as well as being almost as absurdly classist as Kenyon Marik in how he looked down upon the commoner General.  Both Robert and Kenyon would have gladly eaten a bucket of shit, if they thought Kerensky would have to smell it on their breath.
-Minoru Kurita became coordinator days after the coup, and was bound by an oath to his father Takiro on the latter's deathbed to not act against Amaris, as his cousin Drago and his family were hostages of the Usurper.  The Draconis Combine, being a bunch of Imperial Japan larpers, are violently allergic to showing any weakness, and the aggressive and calculating Minoru felt profoundly slighted by his nation's inaction and the scorn it earned them from the other member states.

Joseph Smith was the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Blake was absolutely neutral, and was willing to lie, cheat and steal to secure and protect that neutrality.  As I've mentioned before, it was his successors, starting with Konrad Toyama, who decided to take things further, and turn into the Radio Shack Catholic Illuminati.  Though that was at some level, following a template Jerome laid down.  Exactly where Blake's plans ended and Toyama's crazy began remains an enduring mystery.

The nobility of the Inner Sphere arose largely as a result of autocracy and dictatorship being necessities during the Age of War.  The Demarcation Declaration the Terran Alliance issued meant every planet more than a single jump from the homeworld was independent, whether they wanted it or not, and were now on their own.  With so many worlds being little more than offworld resource bases, dependent on other colonies for food, water or even air, they had to quickly organise and create alliances to survive in the midst of a crisis.  And this was all in the centuries before the development of the HPG and thus FTL communication: demarcation occurred in 2242,  2615 was when the HPG was invented.  Autocracy was a necessity without communication between worlds that had aligned, so agreements of protection quickly metamorphosed into oaths of fealty between leaders.

The Capellans control the fewest worlds of the five, but their territory is DENSE, and the average development level of most of their worlds was second only to the Terran Hegemony at the time of the Amaris Civil War.  The First Succession War changed that level for everyone, and not for the better.

Jumping into a largely uncharted system isn't too dangerous, so long as you're only aiming for the Zenith or Nadir point of the star.  Gravity and matter are the biggest dangers to a Jump Field, that and the proximity of any other jump drives.  Jumping to a Transient Point (like a Lagrange Point) is a more difficult matter, since that's a moving target, and Pirate Points (any other points of gravitational equilibrium that may exist) without accurate and current navigational data is two doors down from suicide.

The Dagda is the chief deity of the Tuatha de Danaan, the Gods of pre-Roman Irelan..  To vastly simplify, he's primarily a god of agriculture and fertility.

Sven thankfully does his work in shorter episodes, he then uploads them in giant compilations.  Check his work out and make your call on how to handle it - my advice would be to pick out the best episodes from each set he does, and skip over his breakdowns of forces.  While informative, they're probably not great reaction material.

A big part of the problem Star League in Exile had was that a lot of the people who went on the Exodus brought their families with them, and that's is where the nationalist nonsense started back up, quickly spreading back to the mustered out personnel.  As Tex pointed out, once you're no longer wearing the uniform, those ideas can begin to creep back in, especially when everyone around you is echoing it

Running into a gunfight with a sword is crazy.  Running into a gunfight with a sword and WINNING is what the Blackwatch does.  Some sources indicated that Hazen and DeChevalier had begun a relationship after they settled the Pentagon.  The other thing to note is that Clan legend describes her having a vision of her own falcon, Turkina (named for Genghis Khan's favourite wife)  telling her that her choices were either to die here, or to go forth and kick ass while she was unconscious.  Suffice to say, she chose the latter option.

Dream Country, AKA Strana Mechty.  Most of the planet is an arctic or sub-arctic, barely hospitaable tundra.  The Pentagon worlds are what the Star League considered 'marginal' worlds, the Kerensky Cluster barely reaches that benchmark.

The Clans are ridiculous, but Sparta was frankly insane.  In short, the Spartiates (the actual citizens) were a hereditary caste, where the families were expected to provide for the arming of their sons, a policy that encouraged them to have fewer children to avoid having to diviide their estates, especially given the expense of the shield and armour.  Most of the military strength was dedicated to keeping the boot on the neck of the massive Helot populace, the enslaved former residents of Messenia (fellow Greeks, much to the horror of the other city-states), who outnumbered the Spartans by 7:1 at Sparta's height.

So apparently you're going through Battletech lore videos to better understand its fanfiction? All I can say is go read 'Throw a Stone' on Spacebattles, and learn how the Urbanmech is the trashCAN, not the trashCAN'T. Every Urbie in that story is fully rules-legal. Yes, including the one that can run over 100KPH. Solve all your problems with Urbanmech until your only remaining problem is Urbanmech.

Also if you want to see some crazy Battlemech builds, look at what TheB33f has done. I often go back to watch his video on the Dire Star because it's great. It really helps that he has an AMAZING voice.
