During WWII there was once a question asked, "If you spot a squad of troops moving in the distance and you're not sure who they are, friend or foe, fire a warning shot over their heads."  "If what returns is fast accurate Rifle Fire, they're British."  "If it's a complete shit-storm of machinegun fire coming back at you, they're German." "If they drop their rifles and surrender, they're Italian."  "If nothing happens for a few minutes but then your position is obliterated by artillery or an airstrike, they're American."

Gandalf: "Theoden King stands alone." Eomer: "Not alone. Rohirrim!" Chills every time.

The first time I watched the Gandalf arrival scene I couldn't believe that an orc head goes flying. Backed it up and watched it three times.

I agree with your number 1 pick. There is no scene more epic in cinema history than the charge of the Rohirim at The Battle of Pelenor Field. This scene could be at the top of every list and it wouldn't be out of place.

I spoke with a guy who knew some of the reenactors who were clustered around Richard Jordan in the Gettysburg scene where he was wounded and leaning against the cannon.  The guy said that he was dying from the cancer at that point, and that there was not a dry eye in that scene because of how much pain Jordan was in and yet how dedicated he was to the role he played

The fact that Lord of the Rings has 3 of the 4 top spots, and that I agree with their placement is unbeleivably awesome.  That series really was the one of the greatest that has ever, and likely will ever, be made.

3 last minute rescues from the 1930s: militia arrives in Drums Along the Mohawk; water bearer blows bugle in Gunga Din; and the best-ever, the calvary charge in Stagecoach.

I've read that the real civil war reenactment started to walk out on their commitment to this film BECAUSE there was so much inaccuracies in the script.
Somebody listened to them, got the script writers to make the script accurate and true to what really happened.
Making the movie the masterpiece it became. ❤🎉😊

In Saving Private Ryan, the German Soldier gives the Interpreter Upham the World's Biggest Insult by allowing him to Live.  He basically thought, "This Useless Wonder allowed me to Kill him two Comrades.  He is a total Coward.  It is better for my side to let him Live".

The "John Wayne" charge at the end of "We Were Soldiers" totally ruined the accuracy that was the best part of it until then.

The real crazy thing with Hacksaw Ridge is that the movie cut the real amount of soldiers Des saved cause they believed that it would be too unbelievable.

Perhap Blucher reinforcing Wellington at the Battle of Waterloo should be on the list.

Return of the King is the first thing that popped in my head when I read the title.

Love to see Zulu and Gettysburg on this list!! People are saying they aren’t “reinforcements” but committing a reserve to reinforce a position is reinforcing. Just because they’re not off the map doesn’t mean it doesn’t count.

Seeing General Alexander Webb (played by the late Brian Pohanka) waving his saber and bring his men into action is a treat!!!

Floki showing up with his Viking warriors against the King in the show Vikings was awesome, too.

Oh he missed one of the best last second rescue scenes.... Act of Valor SBU scene... They used actual Special Boat Unit teams and equipment for this scene... One of the most realistic moments in movies.

Act of Valor - the fast boat extraction, and The Outpost - gunships support.

One of my favorite trivia facts is that the helicopter ARE the nightstslkers in 'Blackhawk Down'!  DOD had to reasure the Moroccan government that the 160th were NOT there to to business.

his name is Aragorn.  there is an r you are forgetting.  aragon is a region from spain

The sound of that 105mm Cannon on the AC130 gunship is a thing of beauty..
