Sam is such a lovely guy, met him at LCS in 2024 and did a deal, he wanted my graded skuridge gyarados for his personal collection and he paid full market price for it, he’s a bloody good bloke and fair too

Absolute pleasure to meet you! I'm glad that we managed to sort out a deal. Looking forward to part 2 😎, keep up the killer content!

Also, just wanted to say thank you to the kind comments below! This is a great hobby despite its flaws, but it wouldn't be what it is without the community ❤

Sam is a legend one of the few good and FAIR vendors I'll consistently go to and just visit to say hello to if nothing else

You’re not being gullible or stupid. 90% trade-in value isn’t uncommon at conventions like this. But when they say 90% they mean if you’re trading in something super liquid like a bubble mew for example. A lot of what you’re trading in (the modern EXs) would be considered bulk, so even getting 70-80% for that is actually really good in your favor.

Yes Kabuto is one of the good guys, so glad you exchanged with him.

When I have a binder like this and I ALREADY KNOW it's market value I usually approach a vendor like: "Hi, I got this binder I'm looking to sell, it's mostly PF Baby Shinies. All cards combined have a market value of $XXX. Are you interested in taking in and if so at what percentage."

But I see how you can ge flustered when talking about value of a card/collection etc. since you don't really like to put $values on cards in the first place. There are other thoughts and feeling running through your head and not just the "deal".

Still a very entertaining video seeing this part of you on your Pokemon TCG journey.

as someone with social anxiety too, I find your content refreshing and so so relatable. Thank you for sharing!

hey! just wanted to say that you did really good with the interactions, I have really bad anxiety so I completely understand how hard it can be to go up to strangers and talk

Yes I'm glad I've managed to catch this one early. I've only recently found this channel but I love it so much, how down to earth you are and the fact that you genuinely love the cards make my day.

The "Anxiety around carrying a binder of cards but im at a card convention" is 100% a vibe...I dont dance unless im alone because i dont dance well - even at raves where you're meant to just feel the music and vibe, so i feel that comment 100% lol.

It is so admirable that you kept going despite the initial vendors not being very friendly.
I used to not have social anxiety until I had several negative interactions, and now I have to build up courage to speak up or interact with people I don’t know well.
I’m so happy that you found Sam to do your deal with, and it warms my heart that he treated you the way you deserve to be treated ❤

You did good imo, it is pretty difficult to do trades at a big convention. The fear and anxiety of not wanting to get scammed and not wanting to scam anyone is a hard line to walk and being the good person you are makes you automatically sway in the direction of selling lower than you should. But ultimately you’ve gained a relationship with a vendor you’ll maybe feel good going up to and trading with again in the future and slowly but surely you’ll gain confidence in this. Loved the video mate!

I'm in sales, and I can tell Sam is the real deal. Open, honest, clear.
Those first couple of vendors immediately wound me up. Just the refusal to even give any information up in case the possibly say something they shouldn't isn't the way to speak to potential new customers.

Sam is a massive legend in the game, glad you got to do a deal with him 🤝

Sam is such a lovely person and one of the good guys in this hobby - big up Sam :-)

Was nice to meet you as well, I was the lucky person spending the day with Sam when you popped by!

Just stumbled on your vids and I love them. I collected back in 2019 but haven't bought anything since and your vids have got me back into the hobby. So refreshing to see someone passionate about cards rather than just in for the money which most YouTubers seem to be about these days. I'm in it for the art and collecting the cards / sealed product I think look sick. Nice to see someone on the same wave length - keep up the good work mate!

Hey now. I spent 3 conventions at the end of last year and the beginning of this year going exclusively to find baby shinies to finish my master set.
It's not a disservice, I appreciate people like you who made it fun and exciting to find chunks of baby shinies and get them all.

80% on bulk/less desirable cards is really good imo.

Seeing you not do things because of anxiety and feeling awkward is very inspiring 🤣 it actually gives me courage to start my own channel

I have been binge watching your content this month, you seem so much more genuine & less commercial than other people in the scene! ❤️
