The way I tend to look at set completion:
1. Complete set = One of each card as a basic version, strictly based on numbers you can see on the cards + secret rares, doesn't include any reverse holo variants as they would share the same set number.
2. Master set = Every card variant you can pull from the packs, includes all possible reverse holos
3. Grandmaster set = Everything required by a master set and every associated promo variant you can get from products or from elsewhere.

Not wanting to damage the zard, then closes a top loader directly on top of it  💀👀

If you’re collecting all the promo cards for a specific set that is called a “Grandmaster set” 👍🏽

You could always put a proxie in for the charizard you do have, and have a note to fill in the gap, so you dont have to take it out of the hard sleeve.

Ripping packs is probably the most expensive way to work on a master set, but I'd still consider it the best method, as pulling a card gives it that extra bit of attachment and being memorable. Like I can still remember the joy of pulling chase cards 30 years ago or how Obsidian Flames is one of my favorite master sets simply because I finished it in the best possible way of pulling the last card I needed, the Charizard SIR, in a random pack.

Base Set- Master Set- Grand Master Set are the ways I have known it. Great Vid bud. Nice to see you showing some shops around Manchester. You were in my local at Rewind not too long ago.

Hi LuckyJ.. subbed to you since your "return" to the Pokemon hobby.. so I am glad to see you are now also making "master set" or collection videos. One thing I would like to request tho, is to showcase the entire process - yes, I meant the searching for the 001 card, sleeving and then inserting into the binder and so forth until you complete everything. That part of these kinds of videos create a satisfying feeling for us viewers, specially as you talk/yap during the process (I like to hear you talk hence I subbed). Turning the entire thing into a timelapse is sad for me, but I understand. Here is my attempt in convincing you to not do it in the next video 😊

Master set collecting used to be my thing, haha. Now i just collect fav japanese AR and SARs

i think a master set personally is anything you can pull from a pack, but some others see it as all promos etc, i guess its down to what youre happy with. i personally am happy with cards from packs, a big part is because i cant afford to do the extras. ive so far managed to master set (my versions) of OBF and SSP,  now working towards DRI.

I got back into collecting in January this year. I have all my original cards from the 90s but I never completed a set. I wanted to tick off completing one or two sets as an adult. I started with Journey Together and Perfect Order. When I introduced Pokémon cards to my niece and nephews, I started them off on Perfect Order & Journey Together. I came across your channel around that time and I like your take on appreciating the art and not the financial element. I didn’t collect cards as a kid for money. So I wanted to pass that logic to my young niece and nephews.  

It’s been fun watching them open it and loving the cards. They have no idea about the money element and I want to keep it that way for as long as possible. I recently bought a Perfect Order players guide so I can see what I need and the kids love looking through it so they know what’s in the set. For PO for the base set I am 7 away from completing which I’m so happy about. I have a good number of IR’s and EX’s - it’s been so fun having that nostalgia and sharing that with the kids.
