The year is 20X6: the last manga translated by hand was years ago. When the Last Artisans passed, only the robots remained. It is a dark time.

When they lost and it just went “The machines seized control across the globe.” without any context, it absolutely sent me.

This video has one of the biggest "wait, are the characters actually saying that, or was that a bit of improv?" energy that I've ever seen in a Grumps episode lmao

@TheCrazydude17 1 year ago

The irony being that the proofreader spoke far less clearly than anyone else in the "game."

I love how this is a visual novel about everything the developer never used.

"I am a bison", combined with that pose, really got me

@GEEthridge 4 years ago

I literally cried laughing when translation guy did the "im a cat you can't catch me"
How is this so absurd I can't

@mabe4322 4 years ago

This is literally the climax of both every weird and poorly-translated game you've ever played, even higher up there than that one where you turn into a cat. I'm sorry about your sanity, but quitting is NOT an option, guys.

When Dex was like "I don't know that language!" and was told "But you're the translator!", I, as a guy who took a degree in Translation and Intercultural Studies, felt that.

As a professional translator, I can assure you this is exactly what a day in the office looks like.

I'm typically an audio listener for these playthroughs, so the random hilarious stuff the guys adlib I've just gotten used to over the years. I was shocked to open the video to find that they're just reading directly from the script. This is wild

This game could be the result of one of those “We had an AI play a bunch of visual novels and then it made its own” deals.

God I haven’t laughed this hard in a while, but listening to dan and Arin trying desperately to find a semblance of sense in this dumpster fire of a game game is amazing

@WolfHeadBrony 4 years ago

This is like if the sentence: "the carbuncle ate itself" was an actual game

@michaelbugner7011 4 years ago

Arin saying "poogle" followed by Dan's laugh was the greatest.

@obviousghost5895 4 years ago

32:21 the sheer genuine astonishment in Arin's "I'M SORRY" here just kills me

@Allesef 4 years ago

"wouldn't they just provide you with the originals?" oh, arin, it's not that kind of operation. they're doing crime

@ADSBlue44 4 years ago

“May the poogle be with you”

“P O O G L E”

I immediately lost it omg

"Let’s put on game grumps as a break from work" said the full time manga letterer shortly before staring into space and reevaluating their life

This super feels like a group of friends from an extremely obscure subreddit decided to make a game with themselves as the main characters. In a way, it's actually really sweet and wholesome.
