I met a rich man once. He used to run a small inn in Polish mountains (Zakopane) and made good omellets. I asked him if he knew about any real estate to be bought near his guest house. He said "no, sorry, I own those 50 acres around my house but I don't want to sell it, I don't need money, I make 3000 dollars a month running the inn and it's more than enough". You know, 50 acres in Zakopane is worth like 50 million dollars or more. And this guy got up at 5 am every day to make breakfast for his guests and didn't even spend those 3000 dollars he made... This was probably the man with the highest net worth I personally made friends with :).

It comes down spending less than what you earn and investing the difference in a diversified portfolio!

At 39, I learned real wealth is quiet. The richest people I know dress simple and never talk about money.

When I got wealthier I went crazy, went from Costco hotdog 🌭 🥤 combo to chicken bake. 💰 ballin!

I’ve seen people chase status symbols thinking it makes them look successful, but for me real wealth was always about financial stability and peace of mind — not flashy stuff. This video hits some points, but being ‘fake rich’ isn’t just about the things you buy, it’s often deeper than that.

It’s crazy how much debt people will accumulate to look rich.

The real rich guy is the guy with enough money to be financially independent. Doesn't work because he has to but because he enjoys doing something.

About the cars. I have a mentor who is quite wealthy but quiet. He took me around in his neighborhood and said "sure there may be a Porsche here and there they earned it" but most people were driving old jeeps, Tahoe's , 4runners, Honda's all used very few new. He said "that's the sign of wealth, they don't want to be noticed"

You may notice your truly rich friends never talk about money.

I would flip the 50/30/20 to 50/20/30 where you should be saving/investing 30% of your income if possible. It's a huge difference and feels so much better.

hit my financial milestones without waiting for any government support. It's not luck it's intentional moves. While most are busy complaining, some of us are quietly building.

Wealth isnt just financial, its also mental. Being at peace and being wise another form of wealth people dont seem to recognize

The act of pretending to be rich is so hilarious to me. Not only is the need to impress strangers who have no significance in your life completely pointless beyond shallow validation, but it practically makes you a walking target to thieves.

If people ask me how much I earn, my answer is "Enough." This confuses most people.

Wife and I are "comfortable". Wife saw an $8 woolen vest at the local grocery store. I have never seen someone so happy with a purchase in my life. I am the same, just comfortable clothes on the daily. We dress up for events when we have to go out, but that's about all. Just a plain clean white Tshirt and blue jeans kind of person.

I grew to make it clear, Its no ones business to know what we make. The minute someone knows what we make is the moment they try to figure out how much they can use us for. Doing business contracts, family, friends, neighbors...etc. They puts you in an awkward place you don't want to be in the first place by asking about money and you always come out looking like the asshole in their eyes for negotiating fair prices on projects or just saying no personal loans. Friends who ask for money never pay it back from experience. No matter how nice someone is to your face, there is always someone who logics their way to thinking they deserve your money more than you and ignore the work you put in to build a sustainable life. No one ever ask how many hours, days, weeks, years it took to build that wealth up. No one ever asks about the risk you took as well.

Social media and keeping up with the Jones has been the main reasons for debt and lower savings rate. We can only control ourselves and our finances. We can’t judge people for how they want to spend money. Knowing your own financial goals and stick to it is the most important.

Thank you for pointing out that creating wealth and then treating yourself is OK. Not looking to impress anybody, and do not care what people think of me driving or wearing what I can truly afford.
