For any of you fine folk who may be interested, I have done a Nightmare Difficulty version of this ranking, including the new Dark Ages DLC! You can watch it here! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zikIUR2Bha0

Trials of Maligog is actually considered as a bossfight by the game even though it doesnt have that 'boss health bar'. If you hover above where the fight takes place in the automap, you will see that yellow bossfight symbol that every other bossfight in doom eternal has, either in the demonic corruption meter or the autmap itself. Other than that, great video!

"do you enjoy shooting at walls" had me rolling

22:40 bro his cheeks☠️

Vagary Champion is 100% harder now since the last update when they made it so Mancubi spawn constantly during the boss fight

Glad to hear that you think Enhanced Ahzrak is a worthy opponent, I think he's one of the best bosses modern doom has had, and definitely the best villain of the bunch IMO

For enhanced ahzrak, I found that the upgrade for the rocket launcher that makes it so after parrying an attack it
causes the splash damage from a rocket to heal you. So I parried, then shot the ground, healing me but damaging him

2:50 Woah, did that zombie just dab?

Although I love Eternal the most, the khan maykr had a very disappointing boss fight imo. It’s ironic how kreed got a better boss fight( in terms of quality) than HIS own boss lol.

The Holt is the level for me where I emotionally and physically struggled to get through on Nightmare. After the first time I completed it I never returned to that mission, purely because that Samur fight was unrelentingly difficult, especially on console. If there was an equivalent to video game combat PTSD, it would be that level in its entirety.

3:24 nice reference

I always thought the khan maykr was really easy, the floor can be annoying but her health is so low that the lock on burst will finish her before the arena is ever much of an issue, besides since most people dont really use the bfg you will start the fight with 2 bfg shots and since theres a bfg cell on the arena you can just delete 3 of her health bars

10:00 another thing for the Komodo: the accelerator shreds komodo for whatever reason

11:45 You can actually take down his shield fairly quickly with the plasma weapons, I didn’t realize until my second play through so I don’t blame you for not knowing!!

As someone who’s beaten every one on ultra nightmare, here’s my ranking in terms of difficulty

1. Samur

2. Icon of Sin

3. Davoth(beating him in one go on nightmare is legitimately tough, even his basic lasers do absurd damage for how fast he spams them. The ghost demons in the final phases can insta-kill if you miss a few with the hammer

4. Gladiator(an infamous ultra-nightmare run killer in the 2nd phase. You’ll be stunned just how fast your health bar can disappear)

5. Enhanced Azrec, difficult at first, but once you master his parry windows he becomes laughably easy, but he can still kill you very quickly if your shield breaks)

The Seraphim fight was actually the number 1 hardest boss battle for me personally before Enhanced Ahzrak Showed Up. Even though I beat Doom: The Dark Ages on Ultra-Nightmare on my first try almost a year ago in July 2025, I still think I loved the Difficulty and Enemy type of Ahzrak more than the Seraphim.

Claiming the Davoth fight is easy is fair, but ranking it below Cyberdemon is crazy

I would always save both BFG shots for the possessed pain elemental during the Samur fight, that thing is THAT hard to kill

Once you get good at eternal the khan makyr is stupidly easy, just hit a slob and a phase will go down, she won’t get a single attack off

I remember fighting the marauder for the first time in 2020 on PS4 and dying a lot. I recently got a pc and installed Doom on there too and man it was satisfying defeating him on the first try in 4-5 years.
