People are saying I cut it short - I didn’t. YouTube blocked the video - I had to trim the segment it blocked for the video to be able to be seen. Sucks.

R.I.P. Edward VanHalen.... Truely a legend!!

Eddie Van Halen is one of the most influential guitar players of all time. He and his brother Alex (plays drums) started their band Van Halen and he called his red guitar Frankenstein, because he customized it with parts from other guitars, so it would allow for his unique sound and he also perfected the art of tapping. His insights revolutionized the industry and prompted guitar companies to modify the way guitars are made. His band rocketed to the top of the charts, first with their outrageous lead singer and frontman David Lee Roth and then later with Sammy Hagar. You have to of heard their music before. They were one of my first favorite rock bands and I saw this show when they came to New Jersey. This solo is actually the combination of several solos all rolled into one long performance. The part that sounds like violins is a piece he called Cathedrals.

It takes a lot of hard work to be naturally gifted.

I Was at this concert. 10th row floor-center. New haven Coliseum, Ct. ( live without a net). Rock history caught on film. R.I.P. “ King Eddie” 👑. 🔥🎸🔥✊🤘✌️

He is Edward Van Halen.  With his brother Alex on drums, Michael Anthony on bass, Sammy Hagar lead singer in this time, previously the band was fronted by the legendary David Lee Roth.  The band is Van Halen.  They put out some of the most iconic songs ever that will be played on the radio till the end of time.

RIP to the greatest, Eddie Van Halen (1955 - 2020) ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Adam, you just watched one of the greatest guitarist to ever live.  Eddie is pure legend!

This is the pinnacle of live 80,s arena rock shows. It doesn't get much better than this..

Damn Adam you broke my heart when you said you never heard of Van Halen one of the best rock bands and you have never heard of them Eddie Van Halen is one of the best guitarists ever the guitar he is playing was made for him by his specs he designed it from nothing and it is one of the best guitars out there and your right it is ICONIC. And Ediie has passed away now.

OMG, ADAM!!!  They were SO, SO GOOD!!!  ENJOY, HON!!!  HUGS from TEXAS!!!

I've got this whole concert on VHS in a box in my closet.  Don't even own a VCR anymore. lol

That's his brother Alex on the drums.  Eddie left this world not too long ago.  RIP EVH!

Why would you cut the video short ???

I was lucky enough to see Van Halen, and Eddie playing this live in 1984, back when they still had David Lee Roth.  RIP Eddie.

Saw them at a backyard party in 1977 before their first album hit.... The day it did my friends and I skipped school and rocked it hard and loud.... Those were the days!

I saw Van Halen when I was in high school. It was during their jump tour when David Lee Roth was still their Singer. There was a point in the show where Eddie was going to run up the stairs that led to a cat walk and he tripped on the stairs and fell, and he didn’t miss a beat. He just kept right on playing. He is the best the best the best.

I always highly recommend my favorite guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore.  One of his best solos was from the 1977 Munich concert, song "Catch the Rainbow",  the solo is kind of long but worth it.  Also guitarist Buck Dharma from Blue Oyster Cult, the live version of "Veteran of the Psychic Wars", just amazing work.

Bucket list fulfilled for me when I got to witness one of his iconic guitar solos 2 years before he passed. The crowd did know what we were seeing. I love Eddie

If you want to see the greatest Texas Blues guitar player in history, you've got to check out Stevie Ray Vaughn. He does play behind his back, with his teeth.  Go check out his famous song "Texas Flood".  SRV died in a helicopter crash in 1992 at just 35 years old.
