Accountants will not be replaced by AI, but AI makes accounting jobs more competitive, especially those entry level accounting positions

This video made me want to do it so much more lol. Final year accounting student! One more semester to go

As a retired CPA at age 70, you should be aware of some of the down sides: 1) Most CPA firms are not well managed although I was lucky with my second firm Grant Thornton which was very professional; 2) The work is highly repetitive and you can get bored easily; 3) Some of the work such as taxes will get replaced by AI. I still get head hunters contacting me about Accounting jobs, so it looks like there is still demand since AI can't replace everything - like updating the cap table correctly with an outside investor or booking a refund payment from a utility company. So anyone who thinks AI can replace all of this does not know what a "suspense" account is and why you have to use it. I've lived this stuff and know where the mind fields are at and I cannot possibly see how AI can replace the entire process; but I do realize that CFO's are under pressure to push AI on the Accounting Department and eventually this will come back to bite you. So there is my basic advice in a nutshell.

I'm happy to share that I passed FAR, my first CPA exam! Your vids and tips definitely helped.

I'm just starting, and everything in this video was great for me! I was scared you were going to say you needed to be a good 'math guy,' but when you said 'numbers, not math,' my heart jumped with joy. I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who likes numbers but not intense math. 3 more years for me then cap wish me luck guys

I too hate maths, but love accounting.

Amazing video, I was hesitate at first clicking it but all the "cons" is what I like about Accounting.

I never really considered this as a career in part because of the fact that I'm not exceptional at math despite really enjoying the accounting classes I took in college. This is really motivating me to look into it!

7:15 correction: public accounting has long hours; industry accounting has a solid work/life balance (WLB) much more commonly

Okay I love that comments are saying the reasons made them want to do accounting. Right now, this video is hitting me like a ton of bricks. I've been so frustrated over the last few days figuring out what I want to do. Thank you!

My brain shuts down hard when I am sleepy. I have been homeless for a while, yet I just quit my job being humiliated cleaning at washu to focus on studying bookkeeping. I was hoping it would be easier for me since I did alright in math. I took Calculus 3 and Discrete Math in college, yet ended up with a Liberal studies degree instead of Computer Science that was my major. It is just the combo of chronic pain, hurting from work and the gym, sleep apnea, and just not quite getting consistent info that scares me. Copilot told me since I have my degrees and math I may be able to just take Accounting classes and eventually take the CPA. My step mom never went to college yet she did accounting for a nursing home then something at Target in Detroit. My cousin majored in Accounting but at 19 he was already a senior accountant at some mailing company while also an Army reserve. Two other cousins took it up, one ended up just working in a bank until he got caught stealing and the other has managed multiple restaurants.

me seeing this as soon as I get home from my first day at my first ever accounting job

It’s insane how people complain that accounting is “too repetitive” and “boring”.

News’s flash: work is work, it supposed to just pay your bills and fund your personal outside life. Why in the ever loving fuck would I ever want my work to challenge me unless I have zero personality outside of my job and position? I just wanna do a job that I learn, repeat, not get stressed or irritated over, and go home with money in my pocket to go out and enjoy my own personal life my way.

Great video with great explanations.

Exit ops: corporate cogs called: controller. Financial analyst. Fewest become a CFO. Internal auditor. Tldr- all back office, you are not the reason the business exists, you are not the reason why incoming cash flow happens. This irreconcilable difference when you're 1-5 busy seasons in is soul crushing.

Awesome video, thanks for this! This encouraged me even more to become an accountant. XD I already do some accounting at my current job and love it. I'm kind of nosy about the numbers, like yasss give me all the details of how this business stays together! Best <3

your informations was so good, thanks for them

Awesome video! Great presentation!

Math is for STEM majors. Accountants only use PEMDAS, and sometimes the time value of money.

THIS IS JOYBAIT
