I am a mom in her 50s. Thank you so much for sharing. My daughter suffers with mental health issues and this video helps me understand and support her.

Depression becomes very hard and painful when you are involved in it for many years and no matter how much and in any way you fight with it, there is still a corner of your mind and this is really scary as someone who has been dealing with these feelings since childhood and now I am almost 30 years old. I feel really tired because I have to fight all the time. I'm tired because I wish it was only depression. Unfortunately, I also experienced several episodes of mania. I grab something to get better, but it seems like my wound is old. I don't think I will get better again, it has become a chronic and constant pain. I wish there were people who are still dealing with these difficult feelings like me, when I see that everyone is getting better. I feel how much more painful it is for me to continue and be between normal people and those who fight and get better and how lonely I am.

I have been in a terrible depressive episode the last two weeks, and I've felt so alone, and this was literally the most perfect timing, it was just what I needed to see....thank you so much for your realness, I love you!

getting structure and a routine helps me in a slump. some days i just let myself be in a depressive hole. that helps too.

you are amazing ! you have no idea how many people you are helping with your beautiful energy and spirit to look after yourself and motivating other people out there to do the same thing.

I had this conversation with my daughter about “you are the only person who can help your depression by your proactive deeds” and she disagreed (we were talking about a recent kpop suicide) She kept harping on how hard it is, and IT IS BUT still, no one can know you better or help you better than your sheer will and determination to not allow it to take over.

When I wake up early and I’m more productive, go outside and ground myself and eat better and not mindlessly scroll on social media I feel so much better. It’s just hard sometimes to take that first step in doing it.

I think there’s something about attributing productivity to self esteem, it’s not good but I feel so much better when I’m more productive. Keeping consistently busy also helps me.

Girl, I went through exactly the same thing as you these last few weeks. And it is discpline, just as you said, that is getting me out of it. It's not motivation, it's discipline. I’m so glad that someone opened up about how people have to not just sit in their depression or anxiety but they have to do something to help them get better instead of making it worse. I also get that it’s hard, but if your letting it be an excuse for everything in your life when you do nothing to get better, your also hurting those around you by not being reliable.
