Dude!! Complete engines are $1000 from Japan, and ANY decent mechanic can swap it out in 4 Hours.. Your truck is not totaled, and you might be able to resurface the head, and have a new $50 gasket installed, and be fine. Why did it blow in the 1st place? Cooling system ok? Water pump failing?? Leak? Basic stuff!! Save your truck!.. Good Luck…

You need to find an old school mechanic Jason, changing the head gasket on a small motor like that Suzuki should be pretty straight forward.

Either a blown head gasket or valve seals with the possibility of vacuum sucking engine oil into the combustion cycle (the vacuum routing on these trucks is a comical nightmare).  None of those is the end of the engine or expensive/difficult to fix.  I can see wanting a different truck but that one is not condemned, it just needs a mechanic who wants to work on it.

I love how close you are with your in-laws! They seem to be beautiful people, and considering how lovely Lorraine is, you are truly blessed!

In Japan the koi farmers use these mini trucks to transport the koi all around the mountains. Let's hope your new truck will become your work horse and not let you down xxxx

So sorry about your little truck, but so nice that Tony made it good! Like he said, this is the 1st failure. I just love these trucks! I wish we could get one in Northern California.

Finally, something affordable, simple, and durable !

So happy you’ve got a new truck!  I know it has to be helpful carrying everything around the farm!  Love you all ❤❤❤

I’d keep the “broken” one and just drive it into the dirt. It would make a good one to use for the kinda stuff you wouldn’t do with the new one! Jumps, water and the like. Also, it would be a good one to teach your daughter how to drive with, that way if it gets messed up, oh well! Good video as always!

I am a mechanic living in Japan. I recommend replacing the valve stem seals and piston rings. I also recommend replacing the thermostat, as it is prone to malfunction.

In the Philippines, we converted this truck from the right-hand drive to the left-hand drive before selling, by the way we call them multicab, and the prices here are much lower for around 1,800 to 5,400 USD.

Half of the USA would be happy to these trucks, cars and minivans as commuter vehicles. This could be a lifeline for seniors and minimum wage workers.

You always looked so happy with that first truck that it was a real joy to watch.  And then so sad when it quit working that it made me sad, too.  Really glad you've got a new truck for the farm!

We have a decent sized farm that relies on side by sides. We have gone the mini truck route before and it has never worked out. Constantly breaking. Can’t go off-road,rides like a wooden wagon. We have side by sides that range from brand new to 18 years old. They all work fine and don’t give us trouble.

SoCal still sucks.
But we love all you are doing!

CONGRATULATIONS on buying a replacement minitruck.  Tim in northern TN

Good to see you have a new truck, and the owner worked with you.

That little enclosed van would’ve made a perfect rural mail delivery vehicle. I wish I would’ve had one during the 20 years I worked for the USPS.

a head gasket is a common thing with the mini trucks.. and if not fixed it will warp the head. if the heads not cracked you can mill it.. i milled mine by hand last year with a tile and some 3000 grit sand paper..

So much fun watching you with your father-in-law
