somewhere along the way, the commute turned into its own little adventure

this one follows the trip to Dundas, Ontario, a few questionable route choices, coffee stops, some beautiful riding and a look inside Winterborne Bicycle Institute

i’ve worked on bikes for a long time, mostly by figuring things out as i go, so it was nice to slow down, learn things properly and spend some time around people who really know their stuff

wheel building was a big reason i wanted to come here, but honestly the whole experience ended up being pretty memorable

I had no idea bike school existed! I actually checked out their classes and cost after I saw your short. Wow, what an awesome experience. I started restoring BMX bikes during the pandemic and now moved to vintage mountain bikes. Just learning as I go and figuring things out. Built my first wheel with the help of YouTube. But, would be so much fun to really learn it the right way. Loving your adventures my friend! Much appreciated!! 🤙🤙🤙

This is super cool. Learning how to actually calculate wheel tension and dishing is probably a better way to do it than my own method: dish the wheel using the bike it's going on, and praying the tension is right when blasting down an ATV trail.

Welcome to the area, i ride the trails in the Dundas valley almost daily. taking the rail trail up through to Ancaster then back down to Dundas you would enjoy. hope to see you out there, cheers!

I just put a Quad Lock adjustable cap mount on my bike so I can use G Maps. That cafe is cool, I love the Ripe Pipe mustache bar mountain bike. Cheers from Chicagoland.

That winterborne program sounds really cool but I'm not interested in traveling all the way to Ontario to participate in it. Moncton should have something like that, it's big enough to sustain a program like it IMO.
