No affiliation with garmin after how much youve lined their pockets posting livescope vids is crazy

I don't have a boat or any of this equipment yet... For someone that's going to get into this in the near future it seems like the 34 is better. I can see the fish and your bait on the 34 easier. But that may be because I'm used to seeing your videos and I'm always trying to spot the fish you're throwing at so when the day comes that I do get this stuff I have an idea of what I'm doing. Keep it up man your teaching more than most pros would dare talk about.

I was unsure about the 42 after hearing what people were saying, but I was honestly impressed. It was a lot easier for me to tell the improvement on my own boat seeing the same things I see all the time on the 34. The 42 definately has better detail and bottom seperation. Always enjoy watching your videos.

Have you tested it in perspective mode would be interested in seeing with the softer look if it would show crisper detail with improved stitching between the beams

As always, awesome video. No sales pitching, no marketing bullshit trying to save face for garmin. I love my 34, i was waiting to see what happened when you got it dialed. I'll keep my 34 until further notice. Thanks dude 🤙

I am so happy with my 34 it would have to have to be much, much better for me to change.

Thank you for your honest perspective.  I’ll keep my 34 until I see a much more significant improvement.

Ben, what settings did you settle with on the LVS 42HD? I just got my unit a week ago, I agree with your summary! The 34 you can see your bait and the fish brighter and for someone that's older it's easier to see. The 42 has a cleaner return with smaller fish and bait. Sure would like to get the setting so the fish and the bait stand OUT.. I appreciate all your content. Thank you.....

Have an Idea about maybe changing something or making a whole different variation of a bait from 6th sense that I already love i just think it could possibly impart more of action that makes it so effective love to tell you and explain it if you'd be interested

I just switched to the 42, really liking it. The detail, no beam stitching that I can see, and I can track my 1/64 oz jig and small split shot from 35’ back to the boat easily. I don’t usually fish past 50’ and most of the time fish 40’ and in, I’m a crappie guy. The 42 is much better than my 34 was. To my eyes it looks better with the aqua or moss color palate, and red is blown out(looks hot). You can’t set this one the same as a 34 and expect it to be tits. I’m running aqua, color gain and regular gain in the low to mid 60s and ghost reject on auto, all other filters off. The returns are a little smaller on the 42 but the detail is killer, I’ve never see a fish tail on my 34 unless it was a spoonbill. This one shows killer detail up close…..my experience.

Thanks Ben

Classic case of Moore’s law, as has been with the other upgraded transducers. The pace of the tech (software updates) will be rapid as time progresses and only improve it.

I assume youll compare the 44 to the 34 next. Id luke tobsee the diff between the 2. Appreciate the honesty bro.

I think the 34 has a better picture of the fish and sooner but the 42 has a clearer picture. I think garmin has to find out how to get them to show up a little better and faster on the 42!! AWESOME VIDEO MAN I APPRECIATE YOU GIVING INFORMATION THAT ALOT OF PEOPLE WONT HELP WITH!!🎣🎣

I was hoping for a pespective comparison where the 42hd should shine better....

Good video Ben! I’d definitely think you want the 44. The 42 from guys I’ve talked to and what I’ve seen the 44 you will get it a lot brighter like the 34.

Maybe it’s just because you like it so hot or personal preference differences but that looks like those tv channels we used to watch at night when the parents weren’t home lol. Glad you’re happy with it though

Thanks for saving me $$$. Love my 34

I think either the 42 or 44 will definitely be better than the 34 but I am waiting until garmin does their software updates and guys like Ben figure out the best setting. So I can know exactly which one i should upgrade to.

After watching this comparison I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to swap out my Lowrance Active Target for Garmin.  I just don’t get the clarity that either of these delivers.  Thanks for putting in the work here for us Ben!
