I love when Spock says to Ston, “ You may find that wanting is greater than having.” How true.

I was visiting the South County Mall in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri and was asked if I would like to sign a petition to get the first Space Shuttle to be named Enterprise. I responded with something like you bet! I signed with my name, address and age then later I heard the news about the naming of the Space Shuttle Enterprise. I’m so glad we went to the mall that Saturday afternoon!

2:40 The show wouldn't have worked without Spock. He was very central to the shows identity.

I'm so glad Uhera  did not leave too.  I loved her character and am sad that she is not alive to be able to read my comment.

"Too cerebral" just means it's not shallow and dumb like most mainstream shows.

My mother, who didn’t really like television that much, wrote to NBC to protest the first cancellation. That was the only time in her life she ever did something like that. Our whole family loved the show and were very upset and angry when they cancelled it for good.

I grew up WITH STAR TREK . My favorite episode is AMOK TIME. It showed what "stress" can do to a being.  Corporate America has never learned it lesson  and continues unsuccessfully to tell the public what "they think " what WE like. And so it goes?

Lucile Ball bailed them out when the network threatened to cancel the series! 🤪

I was a young teenager when the series came out and I fell in love with it. I was just so amazed at all the things that people might do in the future. There is a an episode that has two men trying to kill each other and they’re down on the planet ….up on the bridge and they’re each half white and half black down the middle. I can’t remember the name of this episode but when these two were asked, asked, why are you trying to kill each other and why they hated each other so much they were amazed that people couldn’t see the difference because the half that was black on one person was white and the other side again opposite of each other.  That  episode had such an impression on me …..thinking how stupid that  we look for small details of differences that can create fear and hatred in humans. I think I learned a lot of things from that show  thinking back. Now a 73-year-old woman I hope humanity does turn out like that.🇨🇦

I saw it as a toddler & never stopped watching!🥰

My father and I always watched it together when I was a child.   Star Trek is us~all of us~in so many ways!!!  ❤🚀🖖

T'Pring told Spock not to bang a gong: they were not going to get it on

I'm almost 70 and I watched the original series as it aired, every episode, it was the best TV show ever IMO! Definitely changed my six year old outlook and approach to life in general going forward.

When I watch the original series we only had a black and white TV so later on I watch the reruns and was amazed at the difference color had made

I was 10 when I discovered the show on tv. I absolutely loved the show. And of course Spock was my favorite.

Well, I suppose this was bound to happen. A retrospective of the original Star Trek narrated by the M5 computer.

I grew up on Star Trek even though I was only born in 1966. Loved it. I never took to the next generation.  It never grabbed my imagination in the same way. Thank you for this.

In the 1960s the TV industry was basically 3 networks, your show had to do better than the other 2 shows you were competing with, or it got cancelled.
This was changed to "syndication" after a few years.
When Star Trek was aired on the independent WPIX New York, Sundays at 7pm, So many people watched it , it couldn't be cancelled.

I started watching ST because a boy at school I had a crush on played ST at recess with his pals.  Thank you Jim S. (of course he played James T. Kirk).

Deforest Kelley, played a medic in the movie, “the man in the grey flannel suit”.

His one line,he told Gregory Peck’s character, in a flashback scene, This ma n is dead, captain..
