Hi Everyone and Welcome to Totally Awesome Films Channel.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan follows Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise as they face off against the vengeful Khan Noonien Singh, a genetically enhanced tyrant from Kirk's past. Khan, seeking revenge for his exile, steals a powerful device called the Genesis Device, which can create life but also has the potential for catastrophic destruction. As Kirk and his crew race to stop him, they engage in a tense battle that culminates in a heartbreaking sacrifice. The film explores themes of aging, sacrifice, and the consequences of past actions, with a focus on the bond between Kirk and his crew, particularly his friendship with Mr. Spock.

I'm a huge Star Trek fan, I have been since I was a child, in Star Trek 2 the wrath of Khan is my absolute favorite of the series, may it live long and prosper.

I had a massive lump in my throat when Spock died. This film is still my favorite of all Star Trek movies.

Jerry Goldsmith and James Horner. Two amazing composers and two different great musical scores. Star Trek is lucky to have both.

Star Trek II had the best death scene I have ever seen in a movie. Nimoy and Shatner did an excellent job filming this....they portrayed a real emotional moment. Well done gentlemen.

That final fun fact that Wrath of Khan was the literal beginning of consumer VHS sales is so cool!

I must admit as a 64 year old guy, I STILL tear up during the Spock death scene. The interaction between Kirk and Spock is played so well, it is hard to believe it was simply two actors playing rolls. Then at Kirk's funeral speech where he chokes up saying "...his was the most, human".... 😢

James Horner’s score is a masterpiece

I had a "date" with Kirstie Alley on the weekend when this movie was released in the summer of 1982 at the Regency Theater in San Francisco, and after the movie, I went back to my hotel across Van Ness Avenue, the Cathedral Hill Hotel (where Peter Bogdanovich had filmed "WHAT'S UP DOC?" in 1972) and went to the hotel bar, and Kirstie sat down right next to me and we spent about 20 minutes chatting together over a drink. Also at that hotel bar were other supporting actors from the cast of ST-2 TWOK, the two beautiful blonde ladies on Khan's starship, and the actor Judson Scott as Khan's right hand man. He was an interesting guy, and an accomplished pianist, and played a lovely tune on the hotel bar grand piano to a round of applause.

I remember the collective guy punch everyone felt when Spock died. People were ready to believe anything, even the corny rebirth.

tThe even numbered films were the best.

At the climax of the film, when kirk turns to look the empty chair on the bridge, where Spock is supposed to be, we see a quick scene that delivers a strong sense of pending dread. ST2, great film.

I've been a Trek fan since I was a kid in the early 70s, rushing home after school to catch reruns. Even had models of the Enterprise and Klingong ship, along with model phaser, communicator, and tricorder. I saw this movie in the theater opening week, and I like everyone else had heard the rumors about Spock dying in it. My friends and I were completely taken in by the fakeout at the beginning, and yes, when the lights finally came on at the end, practically the whole theater was in tears.

Since then, I"ve probably seen this movie at least thirty times or so, and yes, I tear up every time. I usually manage to hold out up till the moment Kirk swivels in his chair and sees Spock's station deserted, but from then on I'm a blubbering mess.

That Shatner didn’t like the stript is wild.

Thank you for making this. I’ve seen so many behind the scenes of Star Trek two things you didn’t know about Star Trek two etc. etc. yours is the best so far!

Most heroic onscreen death of all time. Cried my eyes out at 12, was still doing the same showing it to my kids decades later. RIP Leonard Nimoy

I just remember back in 1982 even people who never watched Star Trek were caught up in the whole hoopla about Spock dying. It was genius marketing.

I loved Star Trek II. It was... real. "The Wrath of Khan" was a masterpiece, well written, excellently acted, and wonderfully produced. Spock's death, and Kirk's interaction with his dying friend broke my heart; and this old Apache girl does not cry, but a tear escaped one eye.
I am now subscribed to this wonderful channel. No click bait 👍🏾, just excellent reviewing that is absolutely enjoyable. Thank you!

Madlyn Rhue must have had plenty of opportunity to see Star Trek 2, and for her I imagine it being a bittersweet experience. The word I get is that they would have liked to include her in the plot, but her health problems had her wheelchair-bound, and that factor took that off the table.

Hands down the best Star Trek movie for me.

I don't know how many times I have watched this movie I always tear up at the end, and just as you get your composure back you hear Spock's voice and the tears just start all over again
