I completely agree with you regarding what’s happening with the budget knife segment and many Chinese brands. I stopped buying them about six months ago because I realized there’s no real vision behind them. They just churn them out to saturate the market and keep you buying new ones, even though they aren't any better than the previous models—and barely differ from them at all. I kept just one titanium Militaw and shifted my focus to domestic projects. As for the knife community on YouTube, it’s basically just a home shopping channel. Thanks for covering this topic—keep doing what you're doing. It’s your channel, after all, so it’s up to you to decide what to cover and how. Greetings from Russia, and good luck!
Honesty is the best policy. I think that is a quote from one of our forefathers. And I try to follow suit. Sometimes, it offends people, but being true to yourself is worth it. Thanks for the content Doody
You know, I think it’s the bearings themselves that are making it so gritty. I JUST took apart a Shilin cutter for a friend and the bearing themselves felt gritty (like rolling them between my fingers and cleaning them off with a microfiber).
I do not own anything from Vosteed. I would not feel ANY type of way for this manufacturer. They are who they are... pumping out weekly cash grab "bangers" according to most run of the mill influencers!🤣🤣
One of few knifetubers who actually use and test their stuff. Arguing with ppl on the interwebs is like pissing in the wind. Fact your channel has gotten to the size it has without becoming a commercial for budget should tell u all u need to know about how the core collectors feel about ya. Keep up the good fight dood👊🤙
One thing to note on the custom knives you've videoed is that they are for the most part older models that were made around a decade ago. Makers these days have upped their game due to the presence of the small batch, high end production knives. Obviously, this will also depend on the individual maker. The Munroe Metalworks flipper you had on the last custom knife video is what to expect from a modern custom knife.
Also, people telling you to simply loosen the pivot on a Vanchor Lock knife really exposes that commenter's knife knowledge.
This is funny, I agree with both sides, first off, the knife should come better tuned out of the box, but you can tune-up the vanchor lock to make it very smooth and snappy, plus you can get used to holding it in ways that the flippers don't hit your hand. I like my Akita but definitely have no desire to buy another vanchor lock knife knowing I will likey have to tune it up even though I do like tinkering with stuff.
I’m over these companies cramming every deployment on a knife and not doing a single one good. I’ll take one well done deployment everydayyy over 4 crappy deployments on one knife lol.
People just get defensive when you call out how bad their favorite knife is. Don’t hold it against them, they just haven’t experienced real quality yet. 👍🏽
I seen the Instagram comments, some people got pretty bent out of shape 😂. Me personally, I absolutely love my Thunderbeast and the action on mine is really good. I use that knife particularly for a fidget knife so I enjoy the different types of deployment options for the fidget factor. On my harder use knives, I definitely don't need 100 deployment options, I just need it to work correctly and easily. I desperately want a Rosie or a Grimsmo, I'm currently saving up for one or the other. Love your videos man, keep it up!
