Glad it was only the spark arrestor that caused the no start issue

I have the very same WEN and have been using it at least once a day for 2 years or 5 1/2 hours per day truck camping. The only 2 problems I have had are the spark arrestor being dirty and the other 1 problem shut it down for a month while I ordered parts. What had happened the first time was- The world tiniest screw which was located on top of the carburetor came undone after a year and the brass thingamajig was beat up. I could not find the screw for a month because it had fallen down on the inside of the housing and was in a segmented bottom of the housing. It' is probably best to use mirrors and maybe a magnetic pickup tool to look for it. first. I wish I could be more specific. My Dad told me when I was young and I saw him taking the back of the T.V.  He was a carpenter and I did not think he knew anything about RCA T.V.s and immediately told him so. ( I was only 8 years old). He replied that he did not know a thing about them and assured me he was 'just taking a look'. He said these wise words- The very first thing you can do is to take the cover off and look for soot marks or burn marks, scratch marks or shavings, and that will point to the likely problem. I have used that many times in my life. Thanks Dad.

Thank you sir. You fixed my 2000 watt Champion inverter. I didn't even know they had such a thing as a spark arrestor in the exhaust pipe.

These new genartors are very easy to work on besides ripping apart the whole entire machine in order to fix them but other than that once all the covers are off easy acess after 200 screws later

Very helpful thank you

good info thanks

My WEN starting sputtering when the rpms revved up. ECO was running fine or so it seemed. Cleaned the carb, changed the spark plug which needed it anyway. Was about to order a new carb when I found you video. it never occurred to me to check the spark arrester. Cleaned it up, now it runs better than the one in your video. Thanks for the help.

Thanks guy, fixed mine by cleaning the spark arrester

Great video, I have one of these and just had the carb replaced last year. Never used it since then and now won’t start. Emptied fuel, put new fuel + additive and still won’t start. Gonna check this now though! Thanks bud 🙌🏼

Thanks for the video. My Wen 2250w started to surge. Turned it off and try to start it the next day. I tried the low oil sensor then cleaned the plug. Still nothing.Purged the carb Nada. Ordered a new plug .Never thought about the spark arrestor.I will try that next.

Thanks learned more about my Wen. Mine was simple too. Just low oil after a oil change.

Is the clearance 0.10 on both the intake and exhaust valves? My WEN 2000 has been hard starting, and I'm getting some serious snap-back when I pull start it, yanks it right out of my hand. Pulled the spark, has a little carbon on it but it's ok. Pulling the starter cord with the spark plug out is nice and smooth (no snap-back), no evidence of hydro lock when doing this. Oil and gas both ok, and I checked the spark arrestor, which is clean. I can't think of anything else but a valve adjustment, but the manual doesn't have the specs. Thanks so much for your video showing how to do this :)

Can you run it without the spark arrestor so it doesn’t get all gummed up? I have the same brand generator model 56256280ix 2250w and it won’t run. I’m going to try cleaning the spark arrestor.

How do you precent them from rps going up down without a load

I have a champion 2000 watt inverter generator been a good generator now it'll run about 3 or 4 minutes and it shuts down and when it does the CO2 yellow light comes on for a brief
second as it about dead

My firman has no fuel going to the carburetor I spray starting and I’ll turn on what will it be?

Can you get replacement carb jets? Or is it not worth it....

I've got a no start as well. Pops off on brake clean, and can kinda keep it running my spraying down the yap. Fuel is getting into the fuel bowel. I pulled the carb off and sprayed out the jets, but it still won't run. I run it once a month to keep it fresh. Any ideas?

I got a 2350 that runs great but shuts off after about 5 mins. This is repeatble. AFter it shuts off I check for fuel in carb bowl and fuel does drains out. Any help appreciated.

Hello I have a wen that not starting only hear a tick can send you a video
