The worst Pole in F1? Hard to tell, because there was only Robert Kubica and he was quite good, actually.

There is a good video called “How Lance stroll lost the turkish GP” which details how he got wing damage on around lap 17 which caused a drop in performance

I think the saddest pole has to be Leclerc at 2021 Monaco.  Man gets pole at his home GP for the first time in his life, then bins it and gets Ferrari'd.

Reutemann in Vegas shouldnt count here because he got sabotaged by his own team who gave him a broken gearbox.

TEO FABI is the champion of that field
in his F1 career, Fabi never completed a lap "first" although he started from pole position 3 TIMES
tragically, he retired from that 3 races

I'm not surprised to see Teo Fabi, Jean-Pierre Jarier, Carlos Reutemann and Jarno Trulli here... fast drivers who often struggled in the races after shining in qualification...

2:46 so that’s how f1 cars are made

Every "Worst [_blank_] in F1 (history)" has something to do with Stroll.

The reason why it became evil when it was done to Norris wasn't because it was done to Norris

It was because Red Bull used their second team to do it

If they sacrificed Checo's race nobody would have batted an eye, but they used Ricciardo, the guy on the second team, and since they were the only team that could do it.

The FIA banned it

Unpopular opinion: Vettel Canada 2011 - leading whole race till last lap, and then giving the first position to guy, who literally was on last position with flat tire and drive thru penalty

6:41 as soon as i heard Singapore 2008 i startet grinning like the Grinch… because… what is an F1 Video without Crash-Gate 😭😭

when I saw this video the first thing I instantly thought about was Reutemann's iconic meltdown at Las Vegas in 1981. Not only because he was on pole and finished 9th, but because he was in contention for the world championship, won by Piquet (who by the way finished only 5th), and that was the last race of the season. What a blunder that was

4:20 such a good dig😂

2013 Spanish GP: Mercedes had a dominant front row lockout, but because of how bad their tyre deg was, they finished 6th (Rosberg from pole, more than 1 minute behind race winner Alonso) and 12th (Hamilton from p2, lapped).

1988 Monaco GP. I know you didn't count DNF's, but surely this is worth a mention. The greatest qualifier in the sports history, Senna, does one of the best pole laps in the sports history. He then puts on an absolute masterclass and is leading by 50 seconds from P2, before crashing out of the race completely by his own doing.

It became bad to fight for fastest lap point not because it was made vs Norris but because it was done not by Max's teammate but by driver of Red Bull's affiliate team.

Honourable mention, even though he still finished 2nd, Perez Miami 2023 for being demolished by Max who started 9th.

Im glad not to see Hülk’s 2010 pole not here. Even though he finished 8th, that’s probably the best result he could’ve had considering the others behind him. and those crucial 4 points got them to finish ahead of force india in the constructors as neither team scored points after Brazil until the end

As much as it pains me I feel like Sochi 2021 has to be in the conversation.

If he had actually set his time first, the dead heat time at Jerez in 97 for Schumacher, which WAS the pole time, likely would be counted as the worst pole in history... But luckily for him, the three top drivers set identical times, with Villeneauve setting it first, meaning Schumacher only got 2nd.

If he hadn't and Schumacher got it, he would be the only driver to convert a pole position into getting entirely excluded from the championship!

I'm 90 seconds into this video...I'm going to guess David Coulthard's pole at Monza where he crashed on the formation lap and didn't even start the race is one of the featured 'worst poles'.
