Alan Rickman's "Always" gets me every time.
RIP Alan Rickman. 😢

And with one word “always” he reduced us all to tears.

It’s still rough to watch, even harder to read it.

One only word, and the whole franchise changed forever. Alan Rickman didn't played Severus Snape, he was Severus Snape. He will be Severus Snape. ALWAYS.

It makes dumbledore seem like a dick, but he literally SACRIFICED himself for harry. This was the only way to truly beat voldemort and save as many lives he could.

I miss you Alan Rickman ❤❤❤❤

What most people miss about Severus Snape's Patronus, because they've only ever watched the movie instead of reading the books and the subsequent lore, is that it was only after Lily's death that Snape's Patronus took the form of Lily's Patronus, a doe. In fact it's been suggested that as a Death Eater Severus Snape have never actually been able to produce a full corporeal Patronus until after Lily's death, a rare but not unheard of instance (Dolores Umbridge's cats Patronus for example) of where, rather than a strong HAPPY memory being necessary to produce a full corporeal Patronus, a strong negative emotion like extreme grief gives the powerful emotional state for a fully formed corporeal Patronus.

"Albus Severus Potter, you were named for two headmasters of Hogwarts - one of them was a Slytherin, and he was the bravest man that I have ever known".

The movies forgot the best line:
Snape: No one can know!
Dumbledore: No one can know.... the best part of you?

"The prince's tale" I'll never forget that chapter where all this is revealed. One of the best that I've read, and it's famous end "After all this time?", "Always". It briefs you one of the saddests love stories and a character so well written that it takes only this chapter to pass from being one of the most hated characters in the saga, to one of the most beloved, not only by the reader, but also by the main character.

That I should never reveal the best of you Severus?

Severus still hated Harry, but he loved Lily so much he helped and protected Harry.  But he saw James when he saw Harry.

Snape still hated Harry, but he loved Lily, that is why he protected her son. I see Snape as a very grey character. He was bullied, but also was a terrible bully himself (especially in the books). He did both good and evil. He did what was right in the end though.

Also Dumbledore deserves some credit. Dumbledore knew the only way to save Harry was to make both Snape and Harry think that Harry has to die.

By far the greatest back story flip flop ever in cinema history. Severus was "ALWAYS" the hero❤ Great character, greater actor RIP

Not watching these movies in theaters back in the day is criminal. Huge part of my childhood.

"Lily Potter", the little "ginger" gal, was, in her youth, LILY EVANS!

I cry every time

Sybil Trelawney's prophecy said "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not..." If you didn't read the books you don't know that Neville Longbottom ALSO could have fit that prophecy, which is why Belatrix and Barty Crouch Jr went after Neville's parents and Cruciatus cursed them until they were almost brain dead. If you read the book Order of the Phoenix you learn about Neville's parents who have been hospitalized at the wizarding hospital in London for almost Neville entire lifetime. But as the prophecy said it was the Dark Lord who chose the "Chosen One" and marked him as his equal with the lighting bolt scar that also contained a part of Voldemort's soul.

Snape's patronus was a doe, just like Lilly's. Lilly's was a doe to represent her love for her husband and match his stag. Snape's was a representation of Lilly herself and his love for her.

At least that's the best way I can describe it in my own head.

Alan Rickman such a great actor ❤
