I don't get why the board isn't yanking her license. This is malpractice. I feel so bad for Victoria

@EricaSSL666 10 months ago

I had a minor surgery on both my hands. The surgery didn't work on one of my hands (not the fault of the surgeon sometimes it just happens that way because of the nature of the surgery). I was completely prepared to pay for another surgery. He still did a second surgery for me for free. Fuck this woman for having the audacity to charge her clients after harming them.

@DeMinimusMs 10 months ago

I feel really bad for her that she didn't realize this was a medical emergency and she needed to go to an ER. She had a professional telling her it was going to be okay, and that's just such a breach of trust.

@meganmckinney8592 10 months ago

TN licensed Esthetician here! No professional should EVER leave a client alone in a room for longer than like 5 minutes. At ANY moment, your client could have a reaction and that could be anywhere from a tingle to a burn. It’s disrespectful. It’s unprofessional. And it’s DANGEROUS. T doesn’t matter who you are or who your clients are. You have a professional obligation to take care of the client sitting in front of you and when things go wrong it is your RESPONSIBILITY to advise your client to seek medical attention. Part of being a professional is knowing when something is beyond your scope of practice. The whole situation is just absurd.

The minute a professional of ANY field starts to blur the line of professional and personal, that's where you get in dangerous waters.

As a tattoo artist: we won’t tattoo over scar tissue till it’s a minimum of A YEAR OLD. The fact she micro needled skin while it’s still healing is AWFUL. 😢

I just went through cancer. My body and face are almost foreign to me. It doesn't matter how much people say I'm beautiful; that's not the discomfort. The struggle is not recognizing the person in the mirror, and coming to terms with this being who I am now. I'm seeing a therapist and working through it, but I understand how difficult it would be for Victoria to see those scars each day. It's not about beauty or being insecure. It's the stranger standing before you that everyone says you're supposed to love. It's so hard. My heart goes out to her.

@WeirdOmens 10 months ago

What do you mean there's literal proof Sonya is out here committing SEVERAL crimes, hurting real people, and she's still practicing?? What do you meeeeean??

@silvestar8141 10 months ago

As a biochemist, she for sure used the wrong dilution of TCA, it causes proteins to break. On skin it causes a chemical burn like using concentrated HCl, especially after washing her face and making the skin bare with no oil base. Poor little soul, hope she is ok. 😢

@MakaylaPaterson 10 months ago

Technically she did have acid thrown on her face, it looks like it wasn't neutralized so it ate through the poor girls skin.

I had a root canal once, and the dentist put on a temporary cap until my crown was ready. When it came time to affix my crown, something clearly had gone wrong, and the crown no longer fit. The dentist measured my mouth a second time and created a second crown, free of charge because that's what you do as a professional when you make a mistake. That Sonya not only hurt this woman through malpractice but then had the gall to charge her??? Monster.

@nadazzler 10 months ago

I'm a body piercer and I have tons of bloodborne pathogens training. Not only touching your client's skin without gloves, but then rubbing multiple chemicals into their skin without them?! EW! That is exchanging so many bacteria with your client. Plus, there are so many diseases, funguses and parasites you can spread just from skin-to-skin contact! I wouldn't be surprised if she was doing this after microneedling or extractions too, which means her bacteria covered hands would be touching her clients open wounds! Absolutely absurd and appalling behavior from a "professional". Wearing gloves to protect yourself and your client is the bare minimum and she can't even do that.

@jade-wr9pn 10 months ago

I honestly don't know which part I'm most appalled with, but charging her after she injured her is definitely right up there

LICENSED Master Esthetician here, ya no, we use gauze or cotton pads to apply peels for that reason. Plus, dropping peel directly onto the face, not using gauze to evenly apply it is CRAZY!
It was probably TCA which as a master I CAN do, but I dont even touch it because it is so scary. Its available on Amazon and I dont think it should be. TCA is no joke. Also as a Master in Utah I can do microneedling. I actually love microneedling because it can help with scarring. Basically it damages the skin just enough to where it prompts the skin to rebuild itself. Its great for acne scars but BURNS??? This person needs their license taken away immediately.

@GingerSnaps-0 10 months ago (edited)

I do peels and microneedling and I think I know what happened. Yes, she had acid "thrown" on her face.The skin turning white is "frosting" which is normal. I think the peel she was given was a TCA peel, (which can only be provided by plastic surgeons or dermatologists), but if it was the first time, you should start at around 3-5% and that looks more like 100% TCA (which is reserved for doing a "TCA Cross"). I've had all of this done, but this is exactly the kind of damage that is done when high level TCA is applied to skin that has not been prepared. It should never have occurred. After years, I can go up to 30% for a full face. Also, TCA is NEVER to just be dropped onto the skin! You must apply it via a gauze pad to make even sweeps across the face in straight motions which also controls the amount of acid being delivered. The area around the eyes is ALWAYS covered in Vaseline to protect it.

Also, one would NEVER - not ever - microneedle over damaged skin, especially burned skin! Doing the microneedling probably made the skin worse and even prevented her from healing, especially since it was done on unhealed skin. After that, lasers just added to the damage. Yes, it does help collagen to rebuild, but that's not what's going on with a TCA burn!

I've been doing this for years, and there is no reason this should have happened.

Edit: I wrote all of this before seeing that this got mentioned!

I cant get over her BITING a health inspector too.... cause what the fuck do you mean you bit him ??? How and why ???

@GS-jt3lz 10 months ago

Sonya needs to go to jail. She needs to be held accountable for the damage she did as well as for administering treatments she wasn’t licensed to do. This woman has no scruples.

@sipsredpepper5 9 months ago

Nurse here. I gasped and dropped what i had when i saw the first photos. She burned her *horrifically*. I can't believe that this woman didn't immediately send her to a hospital for burn care. All burns require serious skill and specialized care to manage and heal with minimal scarring. Almost certainly this idiot made everything worse and scammed the hell out of Victoria. I'm horrified.
