I have made up a couple of 'tools' for pin pricking by using 6mm balsa. I have cut it to a couple of different widths and then put about 20 pins poking through one end and super glued them in place. This allows for doing a larger area fairly quickly rather than using just one pin as you have shown.

I’m about to start recovering a 40% Extra and have a couple of questions:

1. What’s the recommended approach for the edges, especially around the control surfaces? I’m not planning to remove the hinges, so I’ll need to work around them.
2. What’s the best way to cut long, straight lines of covering for the fuselage and wings? Any tricks or tools that make this easier and keep the cuts clean?
