Can't watch this without tears. Saw them live, god I was a mess. 100% my funeral song. Utterly mesmerising.

"What is being played right know?"
It is a Scandinavian horn called a lur, they were originally made from birch bark

if you cry, you understand.

Real Music is when you don't know what the Lyrics about and it still touches your Soul!
This is just magical.
I feel homesick for a place i've never been to.

This song wakes something up in your DNA. I was watching your face and saw when you got lost in it.

I love the version they played in the cave. this one is great too but... that other one is also worthy of a watch!

My friend, this is based on texts written down by the Vikings around 900 years ago - older in origins. The topic is that it asks the question "who will sing your name to remember you after your death if you do not live your life well enough to be worthy to have your name sung for the good you did in life?"

To sing the "name" (memory) of those who ended life is still a thing over here in Scandinavia. Both in the tradition of "Stev" and the tradition of the Sami "Joik". From our old tradition that one dies twice. First one loose life. Then we die again when nobody remembers that we once existed. If one lives good - our song will be sung and remembered.

It comes from the hero saga literature - but it also comes from trying hard in the futility of life to make a mark worth remembering. To modernize it - Martin Luther King, his song is still sung all over the world, keeping him alive. Not just as praise of a king of power - but as a memory of good-doing as a human.

It is amazing to watch you react to a text you can not know - and still understand and be gripped by the music and the performance. I know the language of this text - and I will be proud if this is played in my funeral - people singing my name after I pass away - since it is worthwhile for those who remember that I existed. Not from being "famous" but from being loved.

Hey... It's okay. I still cry every time I hear it, too. This song will be played at my funeral.

Yes... Heilung please.

If you love Wardruna, you may love Heilung too.  Pls check them :)  Would recommend "In Maidjan" , "Othan", "Krigskaldr" or "Traust" live. Heilung live is an experience, you'll never forget.

The path to Hel
Who shall sing me,
Into deathsleep sling me,
When I on the path to Hel go,
And this track I tread
Is cold, so cold, so cold.

I sought the songs,
I sent the songs.
Then the deepest well
Gave me tears so harsh
From the Allfather's wager

I know everything, Odin,
To whom you gave your eye.

Who shall sing me,
Into deathsleep sling me,
Whence I on the path to Hel go,
And this track I tread
Is cold, so cold, so cold.

Early or in the day's end,
The raven still knows if I fall.

Once you stand at the gate to Hel
And when you have to tear free,
I shall follow you over Gjöll Bridge
with my song.

You will be free from the bonds that bind you,
You are free from the bonds that bound you!

"Cattle die,
Friends die,
So, too, must you die.
Though one thing
Never dies;
the reputation one have gained

Cattle die,
Friends die,
So, too, must you die.
I know one,
That never dies; the judgement of those who died

If we, as Americans, could get past our narcissism, we would discover a world of incredible beauty.

We are NOT the best at eveything!  There is so much talent throughout the world, there are so many lessons to be learned.

Aurora is amazing!  Were she American, she would be leading the way in our music industry.

Instead, the music industry as it is, in search of the almighty dollar, chooses to ignore her, Dimash, Diana. Amira Willighagen, Daneliya, and so many others.

It is our great loss.  Fortunately, the internet does provide a platform for those who woupd normally be known almost exclusively to the regions they come from.

Had some of these new artists been around 30 years ago, we never would have been exposed to their genius.

Einar is the reincarnation of the Norse God of music.  Anything he is includes with is perfection.

This will probably be the next big funeral song in Scandinavia. It's getting popular♡

I get goosebumps every time i hear this song.

Please could you react to "Through the eyes of a child" (Vevo lift UK) pleaseee that's my fav AURORA life performance 😭

4:00 That's just Thor coming to check where the good music is coming from.

I have watched that performance so many times and I get emotional every single time. Wardruna are one of my favourite bands they truly make incredible primal music.

They actually did, beside the theme song, the whole soundtrack for vikings

And i love your tears... I hope for more of that because is fir me the ultimate feeling. Please more AURORA!!!
